Kite Crowd Problems
So a few of you suggested that i go over to Kitecrowd to meet more UK based Flyers, well i took your advice and signed up, then i was told that i
wouldnt be able to talk to anyone until i was verified, its been over 24 hours now and i looked on the forums, i cant see my posts or even find my
posts in the advanced search, Has this happened to anyone else?
They keep p[rompting me to give them money to start posting under the subtle excuse of "if you want to snap up an offer in the for sale section" If i
was a mod on such forums i would be a bit hastier to reply to new members.
Also i subscribed to their thing on Facebook recently and all it has done is Mess up my Facebook! FFS all i want to do is find other kiters from my
area and talk about kites.

I have never paid to be a member of kitecrowd either. I did receive a PM asking me to buy some logo'd swag to support the site but paying money was
never a requirement to join or post. Nor was being verified for that matter - but I signed up when flexifoil controlled the site.

yeah, back in my wannabee lurking days racekites and powerkiteforum were the two most open and informative sites. kitecrowd (flexi forum back then)
was a more social kinda scene. It does have the busiest "for sale" section tho.
foilzone is also good, but best for arc / depower / esp. flysurfer, very little FB on there.

I think kite crowd is having cash flow problems. Much of the communication from the admin for the last 2-3 months has been about needing money. I
haven't been to racekites in months because of lack of posting there. Sometimes as little as 4-5 posts a week in the buggy section. Not much more in
other sections.

Seriously guys, its a cool place to be for UK kiters, they get a lot of trolls and spam so they cannot let people sign up and post instantly, there
are not enough mods to verify all the kiters and spammers etc that try to sign up. They dont prompt you for a donation, basicallly if you want to
start posting immediatly for a deal in the for sale section then you can donate a small amount to automatically verify your details and send the
seller a message.
Still these forums are not as in depth we have here but still great for any kiters in the uk looking for a more blighty scene.
Happy noe Rasga? :D

Somehow I am missing it. I would love to see more of the "Traction Kite" flyers of the UK making posts on PKF. I am member of the kitcrowd forum
because I have bought Flexifoil gear but quit going to the their website because I was concerned where they were going with their marketing
techniques. My choice. There is no distance mates, on the web. We all share the addiction and talk the same language (power kiting).
Just my two pence.

Well the for sale section is pretty booming for UK peeps, here i couldnt really purchase or meet up ya know coz most of you guys are Across the pond,
i have used the For sale section at Kitecrowd already successfully, i bought some new FB flying lines for 22 quid, made the transactyion and recieved
goods next morning.
I should be getting a board from a dealer that i met through KC very soon so its looking good over there.

Hey,
Well I'm a UK kiter (just ) and i'm not too fussed where people are from as long
as I get to talk kites.
Can see the advantage if you are buying and selling stuff though. + its good there are some other Brits on here I can talk locations with for road
trips and kite safari's.
I chose this forum because it seems to be the most active one.

hey lives2fly - where do you live? I was over on Barra in October and planned to head back through Uist but weather turned so we got the ferry back to
Oban instead.
I live in Canada but go to Scotland quite often to kite - oh and visit my girlfriend.
Lot's of good international things going on the forums. I've met a lot of people in a few countries just through forum connections.

Hey Markite,
I'm at the other end of the chain on Lewis. Feel free to email or something if you are over this way.
Always happy to meet other kiters as there are very few here! Well there are a few into kitesurfing but only 3 or 4 of us that do
landboarding/buggying as well. Usually its just me on the beach which is no bad thing I guess
