6" of fresh snow and 20 mph winds

Well headed out to lake at 6 am, still dark and did a couple test holes to check ice thickness. Winds were not what I wanted but enough to fill nicely. Set my center strap to 50% and tips open all the way, launch was nice and winds steady at 15 mph. Been awhile since on ski's and the new wax job was a plus. Nice way to start the day, set back in harness and did a little cruising. About an hour later wind started to pick up, 19 gusting to 25. Reset straps, tips pulled in fully and center strap out 100%. Speed was nice and Scorpion doing her job eating up gusts. Always worry about safeties freezing up, going to have to think on that one some more. Did get some nice air, pulled a couple nice 720's along with some nice turn swing pendulums. As the day went on snow started up and finally had to shut her down as visibility was becoming an issue. Camera just wouldn't sit right on my helmet but with blowing snow don't think would have been that great video. Great day no matter how you look at it and hopefully more to come this winter, great lake all to myself and a couple deer and coyotes...lol.

Working on snow boots for my Sheep Dog, he love to be out with me. He chases the coyotes every chance he gets, and they had better have a head start on him or he'll throw the fear of God into them...lol. Calling for extreme wind conditions and -34 another day of kiting coming up...lol

I've found its easier to edge on ice with a kite than it is to edge on ice on a ski trail.

If its really icey just use a smaller kite and keep it high up so you are flat on your skis and then you just slide along as opposed to having to hold an edge against a super powered kite that is low in thw window while on ice.

I have found my bullet camera but the helmet strap broke. The problems with days like that is the blowing snow. I'll try and get a friend out to film it for me next time, but I also have dial up and will have to get someone to download it for me.
