Large buggies for a big guy?
Yo fellow kite bums! I just introduced a buddy of mine to kiting and he's done very well the first day out and of course he saw me buggy with my head
thrown back and giggling like a little girl on the way by, so now he wants to learn to buggy. The problem is, he's a really big guy: around 6'4" or so
and weighs about 425lbs. I want to know if anyone has an idea of a buggy that is wide enough and strong enough for the weight / for his size. I know
we can mod stuff, I have a Flexi / Peter Lynn Bigfoot hybrid (Flexi sides and extended wide axle and Peter Lynn down tube and fork). Length wise that
would be OK. Without the side padding I added he might get in but the seat doesn't look like it would be wide enough.
Any suggestions on wide seat rigs?
Also, any safety issues known with a big person kiting?
He's very strong and can hold back any big kite, probably better than me. I figure he would need a bigger kite than me to get rolling in the same wind
I can use a smaller one and the advantage of him is less of a chance of getting yanked out of the buggy--he'd probably lose grip on the kite before it
pulled him out.
Thoughts?

I would have a similar suggestion as todd - custom built would probably be his best bet - I have had a 325 guy sit in my bug and didn't experience any
bending of the frame joint to the down tube. From the production models that I've seen they just wouldn't be wide enough and would give out after a
couple of uses. Sand Yeti's Bug would be the way to go - not saying anything about your weight Yeti - the design is setup for seriously punishing
conditions.

I have the Libre V-MaxII that also can be ordered with the strong package and if you give me a width dimension then I can have Libre make it wider at
the rails. I would see if the there is a V-Max II around to try as I know of one other larger fellow back east that had the same height and weight
constraints and he uses a stock V-Max. All at an affordable price.

My PL Monster Has fit a #400 guy before, with enough comfort that he wanted to trade me for his 05 pickup. I think AWindOfChange still has one in
stock.

Yup, got one Monster left in stock. Also, the Ivanpah buggy will work no problem. If needed, I can have a custom wide set of rails made to any size.

the euro way ... big rider / big kite / short lines
depending on his experience level he would probably want a meter bigger than what most would be flying for that given day.

Sad to let go Ray, I've been there several times. Have to cull some toys myself from time to time. I'll pass this on to my Bud.
Merry Christmas all!

Incl. Tax: $ 1,468.95 pretty stout looking construct.
Shouldn't bee too much a chore to tweak rails up if need
extra room. This beast comes with some serious nice
refinements---------- however-
If you doubt the quality & must have a LIBRE buggy please contact me first!
I'm in fairly dire financial straits + willing to make mad cheap deals on my gear.
Kite boarding has been my fall back for a wind sport fix for now.
Gear I have to offer is LIBRE Hardcore with 150axle + Bigfoot fork & kinked
down-tube. I will include ALL the buggy spares/rims tires extra parts I have which all total would bee well in excess of $1400 dollars (if bought new)
or more. Yours for a paltry $1000.00+ship. I'm in Louisiana if would bee easier to meet somewhere let me know.
I'm more than willing to let this beloved gear go but only to a new owner who will have similar passion for sport & USE IT!
CHEERS & HAPPY CHRISTMAS!

Ray it will not be the same without ya. Give me a call about selling your buggy, if I don't buy it I have others that would love your setup at that
price. KBSS Hardcore XS comes in one size that is loose at the hips and snug on your sides.
KBSS is now the US/Canadian distributor for equipment Buggy Kite Shop sells and will have all of their products in stock. S1 and S2 buggies will be
here soon for testing.

I can't seem to google anybody tied to the Sysmic buggy in North America
Have any of you laying claim to the brand ever sold one ?
Wouldn't Sysmic be best served by someone who doesn't already sell the competitions model :puzzled:

Less buggies but more rims.
The S1 and S2 are coming here to Canada.
I don't think there is another distributor that wants to pick up the brand and carry the quota. AcTually it works both ways for Kent / Jon and myself
for carrying two brands of race buggies. The customer than has more options.

Bladerunner have some patience, sea shipments take a little time. ;> When we
started bugging around 95 we had very few choices. Now buggiers have Ricardo, Kent and myself offering great buggies to choose from with local stock
ready to go.

All KBSS Hardcore XS buggies have small seats. rails are wide in front and narrow toward the top of the rail and the seat fits snug. One size fits all
with this setup and as a guy that is 6'3" and 230 lb it is a comfortable ride.
