24hr Solo
with the idea of doing a solo distance and with no current rules put in place i have a few questions so its more official and less debating
if a wants to do a solo and with zero breaks.
1. there is no one garmin gps that lasts longer than 16hrs on battery time. so does it count to switch to another gps and total miles will be
calucated?
2. how many witnesses do you need?
+ Red Bull + 5Hr Energy Drink can last the whole night.

I'd say its fine, but start one before the other dies so you can prove the overlap timestamps.

Rip, check out the Garmin GPS 60. States up to 28 hours battery life.
The more witnesses the better; would also be wise to get signatures, etc. from witnesses.
Amount of Red Bull, etc. that would depend on the size of your bladder my friend.
However I do have a solution that should not be spoken of in public. :eekdrull:

Get a Garmin with rechargeable batteries, you will need and want to stop
http://pic7.piczo.com/Popeyethewelder?g=50573323
The aim is to keep the records as simplified as possible...and not jam packed full of rules and regulations
There are two categories
Hard/Hot wired = kite fixed to buggy frame
and
Harnessed = kite fixed to a seat or waist harness
The rest is down to common sense and how much staminer you have, you can stop 150 times if you want or not at all....I agree that the mains chargeable
Garmins wont last the 24 hours, and so you may find the Etrex H GPS with rechargeable batteries a better option, and religiously change them after say
every 4-5 hours...it takes seconds to swap some batteries over, so I wouldn't worry too much on that score.
Witnesses and verification, generally you will have at least 2-3 other people with or around you for safety reasons and as extra back up etc, like
getting kites ready if the wind drops etc so you should have your witnesses at hand.....I would not try this record totally on your own.
The time for the record is up to 24hrs....if you break the record in 10 hours then it still counts, its up to you how long and how far you keep
rolling....up to a total of 24 hours.
As with all buggying speed and distance records, they must be achieved on natural surfaces not manmade surfaces.
Finally, again with bugging this is about you and your personal goal, we are not interested in all the red tape the Guiness Book of Records may throw
up, just honour among you fellow buggiers, we don't need an official book to know who the fastest buggier is or the buggier who has travelled the
furthest distance in 24 hours. If anyone sends any false records in, they are only cheating themselves and no one else.
As with all the top records, be it speed or distance, a full write up with names of witnesses and GPS photo and data if possible is all that is
needed.
Good luck with any attempt, and please keep me informed.
Happy New Year 2010

i can drink about 6 cans per day (in an 8 hr period) right now with the supply that gets dropped off every 2 weeks. RED BULL Canada loves me. I try to
avoid the 5Hr Energy Drink because it makes me very warm, and turn a bit loopie. Have you seen me after a few drinks of Plum Wine ... I could run a
half marathon.
I can basically stay up for 3 days on 4 hrs of sleep at the moment. so its good its only 24hrs.
i got the pee thing figured out too, hence the skirt and the hole in my xxtreme apexx seat. sorry too much info or mental image
also i could probably still fit in a pair of Huggies Pampers, so that can hold more than Depends can.
i cant say right now, but its a thought. silence is the key to success. hehehe
i thought about the 1 Buggy + 1 Pilot + 1 Passenger = Speed
dunno the Kitebuggy Mama feels about Jr being my passenger.
is it even legal to put a 3year old next to a 16 year old body up to 100km+

my Garmin 530 will last about three 12 hour days. It also has a low power setting that updates from the satelites a little less frequently to save
more power. I have left it on for 24+ hours with it's rechargeable battery and still had plenty of battery left.
Good luck

when and where are you planning this stunt?

thats a good question Daskirtz... dunno yet. i do have a lot of support at the moment between PL and XXtreme to get it happening. can you send me your
Company logo, so i can put it on MY pinkskirt.
what if the wind dies??? does it count that i get out of my buggy and tow it behind me Miles/Kilometer counts???
whats the full running distance of Ivanpah? it maybe to 10 miles in length but its not all usable. Romo or Fano would be another place to visit too.
