NEO II 8m - Not the same as the picture
I finally had an opportunity to try out the 8m NEO II that Santa brought me. All the pictures I had seen, even the picture that came with the kite,
showed a total of 4 "vents" on the leading edge of the kite (two on either side of center). When I had it out today I saw that there were 2 vents
total, like the 6m. Has anyone else noticed this? Any ideas what is up?

Smaller kite = fewer vents = four vents not necessary. The current HQ color catalog has a picture of the 6m center section with two vents.

Interesting. The pics I have from HQ also show 4 vents on the 8m neo II. The 6m shows only 2. Maybe the pics I have are of a proto or something. Or
maybe you have a proto with only 2 vents? Maybe HQ will chime in on this. I will also send them a note to try and get clarification.

The 8m inflates and flies just fine with the two vents, and I was aware that the 6m had only 2 vents. I was just wondering why all the promotional
photo were diffrent from the actual product.

Hey Bribe, how did it hold air in those lulls? I meant to watch but wasn't paying attention at the right time (you had it in the air too much). Did it
deflate pretty quick or stay puffed up?
(I assume whatever the answer, it'll be even better on the water once the inlets get wet...should seal up even better?)

Here is a picture I just found of the 8m. In this picture you can see 6 vents. Hmmmm....... the plot thickens.
Hey macboy, it stayed pretty full the whole time, even after a couple of power nose dives.

Unfortunately just another inconsistency between HQ sales literature and actual product; and hopefully just a minor distraction.
Presuming the additional vents in the sales literature were not just a Photoshop addition to begin with, I suspect they weren't included in the
production 8m because whatever benefit they provided was not enough to justify the additional weight and subsequent degradation of flight performance.
Glad to hear you're not observing Neo2 8m inflation issues... so looks like a good call by HQ.
I'm looking forward to getting the 8m. I think the smaller size and increased flying speed/maneuverability will be a more progressive/evolutionary
move for me (than the 11m), given the highly interactive movement/speed oriented methodology I've had to utilize to static-fly the Hydra 350 and Scout
5m in low winds here at 7000 ft.

Sorry I forgot about this thread. I just opened my 8m neo2 and it also has 2 vents. I will have to be sure and get some pics of my kite to display an
accurate image on my site.

Yeah, it's never a good day when FOVA (Federal Office of Vent Accountability) shows up on your doorstep. Those wide bore hair dryers they are armed
with are terrifying!
