New Bling for my Coyotes

Srewyfits took on a challenge and came through SHINING !

Last year I suffered cracking of my rims do to speed wobbles at NABX.

I asked Dirk if He felt that it would be possible to turn a set out of aluminium like his buggy. He checked with " his people " and said he could !

They are done and they are WAY WAY better than I imagined. I only hoped for turned disks and got peices of art !

Screwey doesn't do anything 1/2 way !! I think he and his cousin enjoy a good challenge.

Got a technical problem that needs special machining ? Screwy 'll do it !:thumbup:

I think that Screwy's Cousin is open to other challenges ?

Got an Idea . Put the screwy to it !!! :singing:

These wheels are only 6 inch . They look like buggy rims but are actually much smaller.

Thanks Dirk and Sean !!!

Awwwww.... I really wish you hadn't said that.

OK.... now for the indelicate questions
  • How much did they set you back? U2U is fine.
  • Limited to aluminum?

Beautiful work there Screwy - how's it been hanging? Are you dealing with the same wind drought as the rest of us Nor CALers, or do you have a secret stash of wind that you've been hording? Again, excellent work on the rims.

I think I got WAY too good a deal to announce on here.

Now that Screwy and company have a grasp of how to turn them the cost may be more ? I think they are open to do jobs for other members ? Try contacting Srewyfits .

I have a feeling it will be more affordable than you are thinking !!!!

I was expecting something far more crude at the price. A solid disc with little detail. The BLING blew me away. :bisou: :bisou:

Hey all,

"STOKED" everyone likes these...:thumbup::thumbup:

Sorry, I haven't been surf'n PKF recently due to the off season we are having, I'm geared up for my ride (car) and work right now...

Sorry Flexiblade, no wind here either... this sucks!!!

I'd love to take credit for these, "All the credit" goes to my cousin Sean at SVS Engineering, "FANTASTIC JOB", he is the brainyack behind the XM4B (fully suspended ATB) and a really trick fly reel ("The Dragonfly" fly fishing reel) he's an amazing machinist and doesn't do anything half a$$... I'm truly amazed at these also, as I mentioned to him (Sean) that a disk rim was sufficient as BR mentioned and requested was sufficient also (we where looking for strength more than BLING), Bladerunner got a family rate and unfortunately cannot be passed on, but I'm sure my cousin is willing to take on any new challenge, and as BR mentioned also, probably less than you'd guess.

Sean has confirmed that he'll be at NABX 2010 and is trying to get a XM4B to make an appearance also (not yet confirmed)... He's doesn't have an exclusive ride (buggy) for NABX but will have access to both my buggies (along with my dad) as long as I'm not in it... HeHe... He's just getting some decent experience bugging so he's stoked on this trip... I'm hoping to find him a exclusive ride so he can just come and go as he wishes, Dakitez might have a 2nd bug this year, so who knows, I'm sure there will be plenty for him to play with...

Bladerunner, I'm way stoked for you, them are "SICK TO THE BONE!!!" and cant wait to rip past them out on the playa :moon: LOL... looking forward to hanging and flying with ya brutha!!!:wee:

very nice wheel set,

curious as to the bead seat on the lip. i have a set COYOTES OME rims,

the tires while seated with pressure will move around a little on long hauls and hard landings it eventually eats the tubes.

any thoughts on a split rim version with exact tire bead dimensions kinda like ATB split rim?
finally get to see this board looks like solid piece of hardware.

Rims are in transit. I think NABX will be the acid test. Make a point of meeting Screwyfits when there and if they pass the test he can help you out.
Try him ahead by message. Screwy is a great thinker. He and Sean can probably help you out !

Hey BR,
I think they attempted delivery today, did you get'em or miss'em?

@ PHREERIDER,
I think what you'd be best off with is a bead locking rim, basically there is a bead lip on the inside that backs the tire bead and then a bolt on lip for the outside that sandwiches the tire bead, very sweet set up, used for off-road vehicles, rock crawlers, baja... there are some amateur 4x4's that trill holes in the outer lip and run self tapping screws into the bead to lock them down, you'd need a metal rim for that, them OEM plastics would weaken too much and not hold up with that option...
"food for thought...":puzzled:

UMMMMMM

I have created a wonderful problem for myself ?

When I saw that Phree had Coyotes I encouraged Him to work on progression knowing his natural abilaties would surpass mine fast.

Phreerider is now going to join us at NABX and I am about to get some Skoolin' .

I DO think tires will be far less likely to pop with these new rims. I'm sure I can trust them now and ride through speed wobbles . Unfortuntaely they may not be a big enough advantage to beat Phree' at my own game ! :ninja:

It will be interesting out there. With Chad's challenges I'm certian to make new personal records while being put to shame by the younger fellow. I'm good with that ! I have always done better following someone who has it all figured out ? :dunno:

Phre' may go faster but I'll look most flasshy trying to pass him. :wee:
