Surface: 1.5 mile of wide hard pack, 1.5 mi of narrow hard pack, 5mi of soft sand to the jetty of Nehalem bay.
Crowdedness: World famous spot for kitesurfing, lost of them. Few buggiers and landboarders. Fair number of people enjoying sun through out the summer.

Steepness: flat. Some sand whipped moguls after high NNW winds.

Hazards: Sandcastles, children, logs usually visible
Recommend Equipment: Everything. Bigfoot buggy almost required to take the 10mi roud trip from the mountain to the jetty and back.

Tides

Fantastic run from the north end of the beach to the jetty and back. Best starting at 1/2 tide to low. There's _NO_ roads after the first 1.5m of beach! There is a state campground but there's little beach traffic; sometimes just a few horses. Once you pass the campground (see the last road near the beach on the map) you're on your own Nice silent "peaceful" ride! You want a big foot and a mostly W wind so that you don't have to tack much.
