I got hooked on kiting three years ago, bought a one liner for my son and soon got very hooked on the sport, so I got me a two line kite did that for couple years, had a go with for a 4 line rev. and soon realized I liked the higher winds and stronger pull, just last week I bought a beamer 2 3.6 its like 11.4 Feet long had it out in 10- 15 kph had soom great pull soom draging, I would like to get air, maybe not too much at first, I hope with more wind it will do this, I am thinking I will have to go bigger maybe a 5m or so, I am on a budget so buying bigger right now isnt going to happen, but soon I hope, anyways my question is what size would be good for me I weigh about 180 lbs 5'7 tall and reading the posts I am guesing around 5m or so. Any suggestions, thanks.

well I had great wind today 25 - 30 kph and hardly any lift, so that beening said, I going to upgrade, ran into someone who had the bullet 3.5 and that kicked my A** draged me perty good got a little jump in and the wind was a lot weaker at that point of the afternoon, I am looking at maybe getting the crossfire 4.0 it costs $450 Canadian. I can take the Beamer and upgrade so it will only cost bout $200. Canadian. I hope this is better. even though I know a blade would be best, but its not in the budget right now

Really? I have the Beamer 3.6 and when the wind is close to 20 I can get some jumps with it. I also have the 5m which develops moe lift in the right conditions. Still, I agree with you, Beamers aren't the best jumping kites.

If you can at all, hold out for the blade. You will not regret it.

well on monday here in ontario the winds where 30 kph plus with gusts, was scudding perty good and it was lifting me but maybe with my inexperience, on my first jump I land way to hard and banged up my right leg, didnt break it but cant walk on it had to take a few days off work, I know I wasnt ready to jump but a wind gust picked me up and caught me off gard, and I did a striaght jump, witch I know is not good.

anyways I dont think i will jump in high winds again. So I guess I will have to go bigger if I want to jump the right way

Sometimes, you have to learn by your mistakes. Your much better off jumping with a larget kite in lower winds. Small kites in higher winds are much more violent and dangerous. After you really get some expreience, you can start flying your bigger kites in bigger wind. Thats when you start flying.

GO FOR THE CROSSFIRE YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED , PERFORMS JUST LIKE THOS WAY TO PRICEY FLEXIFOIL KITES GET A 4.0M OR A 5M, , THEY PROVIDE TONS OF LIFT AND ARE FAST KITES. JUST MAKE SURE WHEN YOU FLY THE BRAKES ARE NOT TOO TIGHT IN LIGHT WINDS IN STRONGER WINDS ITS NOT SO SENSITIVE TO BRAKES.
