Tuning Newer Frenzies

Does anyone know how to tune a frenzy specifically the newer FX or FYX models with the Y line configuration, to turn faster? I love my 11M FYX, but it is a bit slow to turn and respond, seems like this makes it harder to send the kite when boosting. I can definately boost with it, but it seems like my '07 10M Frenzy was faster all around. Does messing around with the backline trimmers help? Shortening mine seemed to actually make it fly more sluggishly, so they are back in the factory position.

I have also heard that the '09 models could be made to fly like the '10s by changing out the bridles and using ones for a '10 model. Has anyone done this or know if its been done? I'm guessing that the cost might be a factor, can't imagine theyd be real cheap.

Any thoughts on this?

Another option to changing the bridles out is to get a newer bar that has the trim straps on the two back lines. Make sure you get the one for Frenzies or Mantas, the new Access bar does not have the center clam cleat. This changes the bar pressure when the bar is pulled in and out thus changing how fast or responsive the kite is. They are simple to adjust, pull the straps towards you and the pressure increases(makes back lines shorter), making the kite faster and more responsive to bar input. Let the straps out (makes back lines longer) and the kite is slower and less responsive. My 2010 Access XT has this on the bar, and the same 2 pulley speed system bridles of the new Frenzies and Mantas.

Thats the bar i have, its an '09 FYX. And shortening the back lines doesn't seem to make the kite more responsive, in fact it seems to make it more sluggish, as i mentioned in my original post. Also i'm wondering what happened to all the other responses to this post??

I would do anything to it... just pull harder and make
sure it's not trimmed in...
You can pull in the Back lines trimmers...
but I find it's quick and loop it lots... and can do big boosts on flat...
Will have to do a boost vid...

On the 11m here...

Yup, its all about technique, I can boost easily enuf, but i guess I'm just used to faster turning kites. Sometimes its sluggishness at lower wind speeds is just a bit frustrating. Still a great kite though, it's given me so much fun this winter, then again so has my 6M access XC which flies and turns like a rocket compared to the FYX. Both great kites!
