Arcs as far as the eye can see

This video was great in that this guy is flying a Fixed Bridle and he is literally surrounded by arcs.

Could you imagne what it would be like getting your kite snaged by one of the wind generators! It would be some good hang time! Only have to hope the opens back up on the way down. I guess line length is a very important factor at that spot.

They (the turbines)look quite like the ones here on Tug Hill. One of the lots we have access to has a few, the tips of the blades here are 92' from the ground at their lowest point, so 20-25M lines might be ok, but longer?? Also most folks give them lots of respect, but the ones in the vid have to go between two rows of turbines, definitely don't want to have an accident! It is also said that those blades are travelling in excess of 200 mph at the tips, so as it is turning your kite into a sort of trebuchet(sp?), it is probably also shredding it, rendering it useless as any sort of air brake!

Be quite a ride, but that stop at the end- not so good. Darwin award waiting to happen.

In Vancouver, you can take an elevator to an observation deck near the top of a huge turbine - see those rotors up close n personal.

You could only hope that the blades do shread the sail or lines so you don't get tossed into the next one!:wee:
