I'm an anorak
Or have too much free time cos I'm a sad bugger who stays home in the evenings
I modded a carry case for my GoPro and it's bits'n'pieces. This little hobby box thing fits the SD version perfectly (ask Stetston) but the HD is just
wide enough that it won't fit in a place where it won't rattle around, scratching the lens ... hence the mods.
I got everything in the box, except for the HD RCA cables (cos I don't think I'll ever need them) and also includes the seatpost and tripod mount. And
the instructions page.
You can see on the left where I cut the dividers down a little to fit the suction cup in.
The top layer is 30mm foam-like stuff and cut to fit the camera (face down) with a hot knife, then on the bottom of the box is a 10mm layer of foam
and on top of that, a spare lens cloth - so the camera is held in place by the 30mm foam, the lid of the box keeps the camera in and the lens is
resting on the cloth and a layer of foam.
About an hours work in front of TV, being mendacious and measuring and cutting carefully and inhaling a bunch of noxious fumes :ticking:
980yen case, 980yen lump of 30mm foam, 298yen 10mm foam ...

That's OK Kam- you should see how many cases/reorganizes I've gone through with my fishing gear while waiting for salmon season. At the sporting
goods store.."Oh I don't have the yellow and chrome in that size....." I even made a set of spinglo earrings. I told my buddy that's what he get's
for teaching a nerd to fish.

And all of the sudden PKF becomes yet another type of 12 step program.
Thanks, Kam.... I find this post oddly (with the emphasis on "odd") comforting.
Some day, I will be as brave as you and 'fess up.

Sam
