directional twin snowboard vs true twin
Hey,
for those of you who use snowboards out there,
have any of you switched from a directional twin to a true twin snowboard? If so, have you noticed a big difference?
On the hill without a kite, I have demoed a true twin snowboard - the burton hero. It was amazing on the hill!! Night and day between that and my
directional twin. A few times I actually had to think which way I was going and whether that was my regular stance. But, it's also a reverse camber
snowboard, which probably isn't great for kiting due to the constant edging that we do.
However, on the kite, going switch (the way the directional isn't naturally set up to go, but still can) doesn't seem as awkward as going down the
hill, so the directional doesn't seem too bad riding switch. It's still a bit awkward though. I am wondering if this is going to hamper progression
into jumps and stuff like that.
Anyway, I am wondering about anybody's experience if they have switched to a true twin board. If there anybody who has done that (and there may not
be), what did the true twin do for riding switch?
I've got a chance to snag a used true twin for a decent price, just not sure it's worth the money late in the season. I could put that money into
other things, like summer gear.
