Speed 2.5 SA 19 stalling at edge of window

I picked up a SA19 last year and flew it twice. the season is picking up so i want to ensure the kite is set properly. My issue is that if i put the kite to the edge of the window, it falls out of the sky. this makes it very difficult to both land the kite to a partner as well as walk for the beach to the water.
I currently need to have the kite moving at all times. regardless of wind speed.

You should be able to just let out more on the depower line (power it up) and find the point where with the bar out it doesn't overfly while at the same time with the bar in it doesn't (or just begins to) back-stall. That should hold it back from overflying. If you're out of adjustment room on the depower trim strap then I think a mixer test / line length check is in order.

I agree with Tridude...its mixer related. although id' say go more like B-2 C-4 if you have stall issues

stalling the SA2 19 at the edge when it's windy should be fearly easy to do

sounds like what you describe is you kite can not stall there and keeps flying past the edge. do you apply some brakes ?

here what I would check in the order:

- check front lines and rear lines are equal when full power. if not fix by adjusting the black ropes above the strap (your depower rope length should be around 40cm)

- first check your mixer that all A=B=C=Z. should be as default. Try it like this to see if you like the way it flies. On the SA2 I have never shorten the mixer because personally I liked the way it fly default (on the P4 it's another story).

- last step then shorten your mixer (b-1,c-2 first or more if not enough)

see attached picture for simple mixer test

looks good Buzz.............Laserman should have mixer balls which makes the adjustments much easier than fig 8 kts..............................also the Speed 2 bridle has a 3 pulley mixer but not difference in performing the mixer test......attached the mixer test vid from Armin...............

when tuning kites, i tend to try each extreme setting so the differences in feel and performance are more obvious than small incremental settings.... then once the boundaries are established i can fine tune there-in.

Laserman can try an extremely conservative mixer like -2 / -4 and if that is too much then he can back it off a bit.... or that may just fix it.

let us know how your adjustments worked out Laser
