NABX TV 2010
From Lenka:
NABX TV
Thanks to the support of the Drachen Foundation, there will be NABX TV this year. Video projection outside of the main tent with a chill out area for
everyone to share their pictures and videos of kiting.
NABX TV is intended as a platform for NABX participants to share and to create new and strengthen existing friendships faster through images. It's
totally participatory, that is it's about your visual material to show and your time spent hanging in the TV lounge.
NABX TV WANTS YOU! Bring your pictures and videos filled with your experiences from kitebuggy, kitesnowboarding, kitesurfing, art kites, videos on
kitebuilding, kite repairing etc. Hot edits, amateur edits, raw footage, it's all worth it! No promotional material and if that's all you have, bring
it anyway and we will edit the $ sign out of it. During NABX, bring images you shoot and project them right away at night.
NABX TV projection will be part of the Saturday banquet as well as the two amazing party's!
If wind is talking too loud, NABX TV will figure out an alternative.
NABX TV is mediated by Lenka Chludova ( www.lenkadu.com), who will assist in getting your images projected.
If you only have videos/pictures online, but no more as a Quick Time files you can bring along, send me the links and i pirate it for you prior to
NABX.
Contact me at: Lenkadu (at) g mail(dot) com until 3/30 and at 617.905.4731 during the event.
Also desired is a loaner camera that will do time lapse photography. This is accomplished by taking a picture every few seconds, or minutes. The
Canon family of cameras will do this with a very small hack. Clik here. We wish to set this up outside the tent pointed down the line and make a movie of the weeks event and show it at the end and post it
online!
I can't wait to come back and see all of you crazy kite people again!

I got your time lapse covered. Got a year of experience now with it, so I should be able to get something good.
Instead of being constrained to ground level (with weights on a tripod), I'll try to bring an 8 foot 2x4 with guy-lines to mount the camera on.

It has to be *very* stable; it can't sway in the wind at all.
I'm considering somehow connecting two 8 foot 2x4s together. Don't know how exactly yet. I might splint them together with wood braces and wood
screws

I can bring a 16' 2x4 if that would help. I have room in the trailer
Appex buggy, Libre hardcore buggies.
Flexboardz. Blokarts.
PKD Century Soulflys. NPW's. Nasa Stars.
A few other less flown oddballs,
Line sets from 10" to 328" or 2m to 100m.
worlds only AQR that works.

We can guy this from real high, and attach to the white tent.

I think that will work. Probably 3-4 rebar stakes, and multiple guy-lines from multiple points along the height of the 2x4. I don't think attaching
it to the tent would be a good idea; complicated wind patterns from such a large object could create problems.
Yes, Bigkid, if you could bring that 16 foot 2x4 that would be great. I'll bring a drill to put in the large eye hooks and the mount at the top.
I've been able to get a battery to last about 3.5 hours before. I have an external battery (12+ hours), but it doesn't work with the water/dust proof
case I will have to use if the wind is up.

I could weld some eyes on some round stock for guy wire stakes. How many- 4?

Yes, 4 would do nicely. Would the round stock be rebar, or something else? If they are not cut, I would think that 1.5 feet would be nice. Or is
that too long?

I have hex stock scraps that are about 14" long X 1/2" thick, but driven in at an angle all the way to the ring, they should work. I could also add
barbs like metal fence posts. Let me see what I can come up with and I'll post a pic.
