FlexDeck Tires

Any idea where a guy could get some slightly over sized tires that would fit the FF Flexdeck?

these are like 7.75" tall 2 5/16 thick (they say 200 X 50)

looking for something a little thicker 3-3.5 range and prolly 8-ish" tall... The soccer field i ride in is really spongy, and it takes a lot to get my big a$$ rollin in it, esp if it is soggy...

Any ideas?

You are probably going to have to swap out hubs.

For Hubs can go with:

  • GI Multi-Hub (if they have any left)
  • GI 5-Spoke (not listed on their website yet), but you can still order it from them by phone or through a GI dealer.
  • MBS Tri-Spoke

For tires, you can go with
MBS T2s

Primo has a 9 inch Stryker tire, but I don't know how hard they are to get in the states.

You can also browse through the Cheng-Shin catalog for something suitable.

I know they have a 8inch "Bigfoot" tire with a fairly aggressive treadblock, but I haven't been able to identify it yet.

Currently Flame Boards out of Germany lists it on their website as an option..

GI hasn't listed another wider treaded tire yet..... they might when they fully release the 5 spoke hub.

If I remember correctly the tip-cut on the FlexDeck is agressive enough that a 8 or 9 inch tire shouldn't result in tire bite unless you get something heinously wide.

Do you know the inner and outer diameters of the stock bearings for the Flexdeck?

Sam

not with any accuracy right now.... bearings arent an issue tho.. i have easy access to any bearing you can think of (good connection with an electric motor repair guy... whatever he doesnt have... he can get)
off the top of my head OD 3/4 ID 1/2 :dunno: its all metric... and i'm not lol

is the 69,90 euro price tag tire/hubs/bearings on that monster tire? if so, not a bad deal... shipping would kill me, 100ish dollars for hubs and tires like that isnt bad

Price does not include rims. Wouldn't do that anyway. The tire is a Cheng-Shin, which you should be able to get in the states. Just have to id it first, and then it should be able to go on hubs obtained in country. Cheaper that way given shipping. Hubs and tires are not particularly light.... Especially 4 plys, so shipping for EU/UK would shred you.

I know that your bearings are fine, but depending on the Flexi axle size and the hubs you end up with, a bearing swap might be required.... not a sure thing, but... something to verify before you place the order.

Fastest swap out for you would probably be the MBS Tri-Spoke and T2s, as an MBS dealer could probably turn those around for you very quickly even if they needed to be drop-shipped.

Sam
