Angus ,How wide is a bigfoot lite( bigfoot mounted on 4x8)? I got 10 5/8" between the fork tubes. I think it made all the difference. Speaking of, I need to post a before pic.

Drat; I just put the Kitemobile away in the storage yard. The BF's are nominally 21 x12, but will have to check actual filed measurement. I think you'd be fine, though.

Don't quote me but I think a 21x12-8 (like a nanco) comes out at like 9 3/4" wide when mounted on a 4" rim. Not sure but that's sticking in my head.

Very nice looking - and most importantly looks comfy. I like how you flipped the axle to make everything sit lower - good option. I mounted my nankang bigfoots on 4x8 a while back and it was not the best pairing. compressing these big tires onto thin rims can cause them to crimp on their sides unbalancing them. I am currently running my bigfoots on 6x8 rims and they still have issues, need to get some 8x8's to let them do what they are designed to do.

What will happen to the ride height when the big wheels go on, have you made any extra compensation for the extra ride height?.

My ride height will be adjustable by adapter plates or I may make drop axles . the rear axle comes out so I can use short axle stubs if I want it narrow. Or if I was to bend one, it could be easily replaced.So it would be very easy to make slip in drop axles,in fact , I'll start tomorrow.
I really been going at it w/ the shop lathe at work. Axles , bearing bushes, ect. Man it is nice having access to that. Now if they would just buy a CNC :wow: Will report more later

so thats 38kgs with the barrows on...not 100% on how much they weigh...Bigfoots/Eurtotrax will add another 21kgs/46lb to your buggy so I am guessing you will end up with a buggy weighing around 50kgs/110lbs....that's a nice weight....I think well I am sure the next one I make will be over 60kg, makes no odds to me buggy weight, but in racing there is a 60kg rule in Europe....

You will find the fastest guys in the world (speed not racing)will be running with a buggy weighted to 60kg or more, plus will be BIG guys themselves...is that a coincidence...hmm its a debatable one.

Adding even more ballast to buggy, bigger pilot = more weight, bigger kite, straighter line, faster speed.

check it, I made a 3-D neck. before it was a tapered rectangle, now it is a ovoid / rect. hybrid? This is what I did at work today. still needs sand and polish .
