First ride in the bug!!!!

So after having my bug for more or less 3 months I finally got to take it for a spin this afternoon. Winds were 24km/h with plenty of gusts, so I decided it was a good time to pull the 6m access out.

Started out with a good 15 minutes getting use to the access since I hadn't used it in a couple months, then on the bug I went. First half hour was hectic trying to keep the kite in the air in the shifty wind. Once that was figured out I was finally rolling rather smoothly. Got going pretty quick and soon was enjoying several tail slides as I made downwind turns to go the other way. The area I was in was long and fairly narrow with about three line lengths of width, and about a football field and a half long. The road that passed by was the full length and at one point I was pulling away from the passing traffic (speed limit is 50km/h on that road). All in all it turned out to be an awesome two and a half hour session, and I can't wait to get out there and do it again.

yep at first my instinct was to pull out the scorpion because of being use to its power for snowkiting. Then I took a step back and told myself that it would be wiser to at least try the access and see how far it got me before using such a powerful kite. Really surprised me how much easier it is to get moving on dry flat ground. Not saying that I wouldn't use it when I get better though.

Just a quick question though, when one is jumping with a buggy are they normally strapped in or can it be done without a strap?? Just seems like it could turn bad quick if you were strapped in, plus then how would someone pull off those superman type tricks when you are strapped in.

Get your skill level up first and look around the site for devices to use. They must release quickly but as for jumping the bug I personally wouldn't do it with out being strapped in. Mine is set up so if I release the safety it releases my belt too.
