No, really, what's the point? Any buggy or blokart can go down wind faster than the wind, if somewhat off downwind. VMG downwind would be faster than this Cuisinart on wheels.

How much do you think that thing weighs? It is hooj and is the prop powering the back weels or just using the wind to push it?

Yeah so it is geared to the wheels. But the opposite way I thought. The props are not turning the wheels the wheels turn the props. So it is actualy not wind powered in full. It is ground friction powered.

I got sucked into multiple forum threads on this and the point of it is to have a vehicle that travels dead downwind faster than the actual wind. There are youtube videos (I closed all the links to get out of the vortex) that show models working. It basically starts with a shove to spin the wheels which through gearing spins the propeller which propels teh cart. There is energy left over after the vehicle reaches wind speed. The wheels are still rolling and the propeller is still pushing against the wind that is chasing it. The key is that the propeller is actually a sail that is "tacking" the wind. This is very interesting to say the least.
