How to keep speed during the turn?

KGB crew,

What's your advice for keeping up your speed during the turn around at the end of a run.

Is there any better way than stopping and waiting for the kite to take you the other direction?

Perhaps something that is more 'S' shaped rather than 'Z' shaped.

Is there any 'simple' kind of turn that a beginner can to that will keep the speed up?

turn your kite under instead of over and simply follow it around on your toes. that is if you are talking about the kite. transitional turns on land are simular to water. as you have a few options. hop 180 before you turn and
then turn the kite and follow it around on your heels. or the first one with out the under turn with the kite. you can power slide during the whole turn
sliding 180 throught the turn , this takes looser conditions such as sand or dirt. or simply edging upwind till your kite depowers to the nuetral edge ,
then up over your head through the nuetral zone and dive it into the power
on the new side, speed up this process and dive the kite in the new direction before you stop to speed things up.. you can reach me at kitekrazee.com if you need more info wes:flaming:

Thanks

Wes,

Thanks for the input. The 180 hop sounds like it will work, but it will take a bit of work. I find it hard to get the long (MBS Core 16) to do a 180.

I'm riding in a fast soccer field with very short grass / and lots of dirt. When I get going fast I'm already doing a powerslide, probably about 45 - 90 degrees. If I'm following the slide idea, I should just go for an extra 90 and end up riding toe-side, then ride out the turn back to heal-side?:puzzled:

Turning the kite 'under'... sounds interesting and fast
