hey

can any one help me on board sizes and what size is ment for what job.
also i,ve just bought a 9 meter phantom for kite atb but whant to use it for a bit of kitesurfing on the lake next to my house.
what sort of size do i want to get?
considering i'm a beginer,
but whant a board i can use in most condition,
a board i can use at any skill level,
will last for ages
and is cheap.

with a 9m phantom, I would imagine that you would need 25-40 mph of wind to get going on the water. You would also probably need a big board (about 160cm maybe).

If you are serious about kitesurfing, you could get yourself a bigger kite. I don't know what the wind is like where you live, I usually get wind ranging from 10 - 25mph. My biggest kite is a 15m guerilla, and it takes the wind to be blowing at least 15mph for me to get going on the water (and thats with a big board).

You can kinda play the boards up and down as well as the kite. If you are overpowered with a big board, you can switch to a smaller one.... and vice versa.

With you're 9m phantom, i'd get the biggest board i could.... If you have a surf board, you could put foot straps on it - that might work.

Yeah that`s the go, get an old surfboard.
Get some inserts stuck in the deck and then possibly the new liquid force footstraps that you can move around(ie. not stuck to the deck, then you can just use one set of straps for all your boards).

You could also look at really big twin tips, I have a 185.

The other thought is to look at some board building sites like "zeroprestige"(? spelling). Build a ply board, I built one and I think it goes as well as any other board I`ve ridden.

Bottom line is .... big board for light wind and smaller in stronger winds.
