I DID NOT PRACTICE WHAT I WAS TAUGHT

Today was one of those blowy, very gusty mountain days.
So I hit the local soccer fields for an arvos buggin about.
Rigged up my tinies Libre Bora 2.4 and JO JO +rm 2.5, well all I did for 2-3 hrs was get lofted a few times with the JO JO its a pretty wicked kite when gusty, flew the Bora but wind gusts up top kept turning it inside out all the time, was a right pain everytime I got in the bug the wind would shiftand the kite would luff and fall and twist, and so the process went for a while, I thoght it was going to be a good days hooning about, but the gusts and shifts made it a pain, it was blowing up to 10 knots with 20 knot gusts.

And I had kites staked out and didnt weight down trailing edge I had a number of mad runs chasing kites, I will know better next time.

Doh!

Had a day like that last week - 20 knots gusting to wa-aaay up there - got lifted right off the board a few times before I pulled out my 3.5m ... the soft grass under my feet was confidence inspiring though ;)

Yeah... I got a kite. Or two...

haha, had a similar day last week with the PL Viper 2.6 and the bug. Thought it was gonna be epic at the fields but did'nt realize how GUSTY it was. Spent a good hour getting pulled out of the bug, sideways, resetting, cursing, sweating, bowtie, fixing lines, etc. Finally gave up. Small kites can give a spanking.
Today looked perfect, fairly steady15mph, and I got stuck working on my monster-in-laws house all day. But added brownie points!

Parapacking has yet to let me down, even when the wind is up and I have to sorta stuff the kite into the bag to keep it under control ... just check the bridle isn't hung up on knots when you pull the kite out next time :D
