I live in Woodward Oklahoma which is 2.5hr from the city. I fly in wheat fields around here and definitely do not consider myself a pro. I think there are people who fly at or near lake Hefner in the city.

There is a guy from OKC that's been on here, I think his name is powerkiter82 or something like that. My father flies at Lake Hefner (just stunt kites), but has said he's seen a guy in a buggy there before.

I do live in OKC, I just have not checked this section of the forum in a while. Sorry I missed your request to meet OKC flyers. I usually try and make it out to Lake Hefner to fly every other weekend if the weather allows of course. If anyone is interested just let me know and I will meet up with you.

ICTKITEFLYER, what brings you to OKC this summer if you don't mind me asking? If you want, I could show you some of the flying places around here.

ICTKITEFLYER, if you get any free time while you are down here, and if you want, I could show you a few places to fly around here.

Hopefully the weather will cooperate while you are here. I have only been able to get out in the buggy 3 times since I bought it in late march. I could definitely use more practice, but every time I plan to go buggy on the weekend, we either get rain right before and it makes the field to muddy or the winds lately have just been crazy. As everyone knows with the T storms and tornados that hit yesterday, we had straight line winds anywhere from 30 to 40 mph with gusts even higher and last night there where sustained winds that hit over 100 mph north of OKC. For most of the week before we had 20-30 mph sustained winds with gusts even higher.

I just got my first power kite last weekend, a 3m beamer, and I live here in Oklahoma City. I've only flown it a couple times so far. I'm definitely up for getting together.

Jasapp, just let me know when you can. I am going to try and fly at Lake Hefner this Saturday morning if it does not rain.
