Avoid flipping the buggy and hitting yourself in the head with the axle...

Congrats on your new rocking chair................ Er um buggy. Don, this doesn't mean you are old now. The buggy is just an element you haven't fully discovered yet. I hope you really like it. Those cool air transitions where you send the kite back over your head to lift you and head back the other way don't work as well in the buggy.:lol: I think your wind skills will have you riding fine in the buggy with about 10 more minutes of practice.:bigok:

I've never actually done it. But I'm pretty sure I ran across a video of someone flipping and hitting themselves in the head with a back tire .

I've hit myself in the head with my rear tire twice. It happens at slow speeds to stopped and then you get more power than you were ready for and the buggy flips instead of rolling away with the power. A third time, I had the presence to reach up and catch the axle before it conked me in the head. Don't let the kite get perpendicular to you at slow speeds is the lesson here.

Your depowers will reign supreme and you are on the right track for what to get for those fixed bridle days. You have so much wind range with your depower quiver that unless you are running dune to water, you might not need a fb kite.

Much as I love my Ozones, my understanding that the Reactor II is the way to go as long as you don't need something like the Vapor or the Yakuza GT.

If you can score some begos again those would be sweet - race kite like performance but lift when you want it.

stick with the depowers if you just want to cruise and as bob says you have the added benefit of being able to not get your beer tangled in the strop. depower bar to strop fixed bridal is a different world. stick with what you are used to and you'll have plenty of fun! We need a buggy progression list... downwind turn, shave speed, upwind, upwind shave speed, downwind, down loop, back loop, upwind turn; that's a good year or so, what's next on the list aside from 118kmh?

FB are good for the buggy when doing short tacks across a beach or field when the wind is not right for long reaches, where de-powers rule for a nice park-and-ride

Get out on the hardpack when the tide is going out and have fun sliding around... I still don't have the going in reverse thing down yet, but just learning to slide sideways to a stop is always fun...

But liek someone else said... if your used to depower's and flying on a bar...stick with it. I fly on handles now and then, but just feel more comfortable with a bar.
