Here is a copy of the letter I sent. Feel free to modify or even copy if it's easier. The more reaction they get to this the better:
Good afternoon,
I live in Arizona and yesterday received news of two of my friends
getting brutally beaten at a Denver skate park. The attack happened
about 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the park, 2205 19th St., on the edge of
downtown Denver near Coors Field. If this was a simple fight I would
simply feel bad that it transpired. However this was more than a minor
assault, this was gang violence on two innocent citizens. The apparent
lack of concern from the DPD is quite shocking. After reading the
article written about the event in the denver post and Mr. Jackson's
included response it is apparent that this isn't being taken as
seriously as it should be. What if this was a fellow officer or an
officer's child? This would have pulled front page headlines!
Neighbors and others would be outraged! The two victims are well known
and respected in the mountainboarding community and have done much for
our growing sport. They were regulars at this particular skate park
and were there that night with their children who witnessed the
beating. Imagine having to watch your father receive repeated blows to
the head and back without being able to do a thing about it!
I have been told that this is the second large group assault at this
location in the last month. This hardly qualifies as an isolated
incident and while I do not live in Colorado I am greatly concerned
for the many people (and many friends) that want to use these
facilities peacefully and cannot or will not due to the threat of
violence.
Please take a look at the article I have referenced in this e-mail.
There are many of us across the world who respect these two men and
what they have done in our community.

This is an issue that can and should be addressed before someone else
gets hurt.
Thank you in advance for your attention and action on this matter,
