is there anyway a calender can be created to keep track of all the events throughout the year...? not so much a thread, but more of a link... :dunno:

i was just thinking that with all the buggy bashes and flying festivals it would give people more time to plan, save, schedule, coerce the significant other, etc....

We used to have a calender - no one used it. Now i dont think one exists that pairs with this forum software. Ill look into it.

+1 for Google Calendar as it also ties in nicely with Google Maps.

If the Forum software allows you to modify the menu line just below the banner, should be able to link directly to it.

Of course but that would require a seperate login. The old calender - no longer available - was part of the forumware. Still looking into it but must justify the effort. The last calender went unused. Lets hear more more feeback on this from all interested.

was the old calender not used in the sense that nobody checked it, or did event organizers not list events...?

i think just looking at how many posts are put up every season asking when the next buggy bash is a good indicator as to how this would be helpful. Not to mention the other group flys and kiting festivals that go unnoticed 'til the last minute because nobody knew.

I know i would use it quite regularly to see whats happening and post whatever events i hear about.

It was largely unused in just like the gallery page. Many requests for it but not much use.

An issue I foresee is that some folks will post in the events section and others will post in the calender. Few will post in both. Event info will then become divided.
