Recommended 5/6m Buggy Kite
I'm looking for a 5/6m as an upgrade from a 3m Buster 2. I don't really have a budget but I'd prefer to keep it less than £200. I wouldn't be doing
buggy jumping; just hoping to get some more speed in lower wind speeds.
Can anyone advise?
Thanks

If you are looking for a new kite I know that the 4m buster III is right at 201.00Euro and the 5m Buster III is at 218.00Euro. Any of the PKD Kites
are great buggy engines.
Appex buggy, Libre hardcore buggies.
Flexboardz. Blokarts.
PKD Century Soulflys. NPW's. Nasa Stars.
A few other less flown oddballs,
Line sets from 10" to 328" or 2m to 100m.
worlds only AQR that works.
North American distributor for PKD.

There are a lot of Panch Ace 5m out there. and there not big bucks. I like mine for pulling the buggy. But I hear they are good lifters as well.

I was looking at the Buster 3 before. Shame Buster 2 hasn't gone down in price at all; Buster 3 is only about £15 more.

I would suggest a PL Reactor, great buggy kite with not a lot of lift and very nice in the buggy. I have the 4.9M and till this day is one of my
favorite buggy kites.

your 3m was a good start getting bigger in a 5m and than a 7m depending on your average wind would fill all your gaps.
if you need more speed you should step away from the beginner foil and get something a little more advanced.
the pl viper / pkd brooza / pl reactor II / hq crossfire are just some you should research on

I'm really liking the PL Viper these days now with more time on it. Now that the Reactor II is here and takes a bit more skill to fly, it has a solid
place in the line up as an easy to fly buggy engine with decent performance.

PL Reactor II rocks for a buggy engine. Flexi Rages are real good too, but not as fast, but if ya work em real hard they are some decent pullers.

I didn't realise Busters were beginner kites. Would a Viper or other high performance kites really be worth the extra money? I'm not planning to race
and I don't think my buggy is built for light-speed (EOLO).
On a side note; what wind speeds are suitable for 5m's?

Yeah, a good buggy engine will be low lift and fast through the window, providing better upwind performance and wider wind range with slightly
improved low end. Low end for 5m, depending on surface, 5-8 and upper end around 17-20 mph maybe more depending on weight and flying preference.

i wouldnt call a viper a high end race kite... its a good all around buggy engine... the reactor would be next in the PL line (as far as bugs are
concerned), prolly sharing that spot with the Core... and the vapor topping out the buggy line up
when i flew the core... the only thing in my head was, damn... this would be sweet in a bug! super light, and upwind like a m*****f*****
i like my twister, at 5.6m.. but its a little more lifty than most buggy-ers would prefer... but it tops out, wind wise, at about 25mph... at that
point, i cant fly it without getting lofted and carried away... for riding i like it 15-20... but i'm flat screaming... a buggy designed kite approx
5m, on grass... i would shoot for 15-18mph.. hard-pack a little less (i'm a bigger guy tho)
PL: Twister II 5.6m, Phantom 15m / 12m, 10m Synergy, JIBE Viper 5.3m, Charger 19m
HQ: Montana 4 12.5m, Apex 3 5m
Flexi: Blade ViP, Rage 1.8m \"lil Pepi!\"
FlexiFoot Bug / FlexDeck / MBS Core 95 / Custom Carbon Fiber MTH \"Monster Door\"
Corsair Crash Test Dummy (QC Suervisor )
