In July there is a great kite fest on Brenton point at the southern end of Newport. They have room to buggy there but not on a beach. It is all grass.
Maybe some one closer to there will know but I think first beach is ok as well. But like I said I'm not certain.
Or you could stop in CT on your way up and meet me at the state park Hamonasset. Great for buggying.

I have been to Brenton point and I don't think there is really much room for buggy or landboarding. alot of single line, revs, deltas, and huge kites
always up in the sky there. Newport RI is only 20 min from my house. I am not positive on the 2nd, 3rd beaches........as far as buggys and boards on
the sand, you might have to check it out I am not sure, last i was there last summer there was a huge set of rules about bikes and stuff and
times...Thats where all the kitesurfers are allowed to go. :dunno: Sorry I am not much help even though I am always in Newport but not for kiting.
But you can sure as hell can come and meet me at my spot in New Bedford Ma, about 1/2 away at the fort. or if you do find any info about Newport I will go up there....Honestly though I have never seen a buggy or
landboard in that area, always kitesurfing

Hey Pokitetrash DG may very well be right about the beaches. Like I said I wasn't sure. And the fields at Brenton point are smaller. But I have seen
Doublespeed having a blast there in the past.
As for a weekday meetup it's no problem. I can get time off if needed. And if I have the granddaughter that day my youngest will be out of school by
then so he can help out. I may try to get there a couple days a week to get more practice in. I just bought a PL buggy It should be here this weekend

Yea Roc, sounds like a real plan. We'll work out the day when it gets closer. I'll likely have my two youngest kids (14 & 12) with me who like to
kite and sail Blokarts so if you have some youngsters who want to play, they can try the Blokarts as well while we buggy.
Do alot of people use Hamonasset to buggy and landboard? Alot of state parks dont allow that kind of activity -- any trouble ever?

Well if the rain holds off today I am going to head down to Hamonasset to practice. Maybe I will even be successfull!!
Suppose to be 20-30mph so I think I'll stick to the smaller C-quads. But leaves are barely moving here now.

pokitetrash, hi ,i buggy at newport/brenton point mostly at the kite festival in a rope off area.i don't need much room i just want to ride, there a
rock wall i get close to and ride up hill to the flag pole, i don't get to do that much so i get a kick out of that. chris shultz and i rode last
summer till he got cut out by a single line.i rode at 2nd beach after the kite fest 6:30pm nice long rides but i was told there was some birds down
there so i didn't ride down so far.i had my best time at hamonasset a couple of years ago.wind was blowing on shore and low tide was at 1 pm. i was in
heaven. i rode on the fields on the hot top then the beach on my 4 meter and then i did a demo for sound winds kite fest.most people i have seen at a
kite fest around here 20000 2 days i had wicked good time that year i was really tired and i had a long ride home but i have been wanting to do that
beach ever scence i saw it but the tides werent right" great moments in kiting"im a fan of asking for forgiveness so look both ways and hurry up and
get bugging, you can do it at least once before they say that not allowed

Cool -doublespeed! Are you talking about asking forgiveness at hamonasset or Breton Point, or second beach??
I don't mind pirating a beach run every now and then but this time I'm bringing family so I don't want to get the boot.

Sounds like a plan. I was planning to head down on Thursday. But I changed m mind about it and glad I did. The winds here in the woods were 20-30
steady with gusts of 50. I bet the shore was wild. We had loads of trees down and limbs and branches all over the place. I would have been in

Paul it was good to see you again. To bad I was so beat. Sundy I flew all day and now I'm beat again. I met Grouch and we flew together for a few
hours but were held at bay by lots of families with single lines and little kids. They just don't understand when you say the lines under presure are
like cheese slicing wire.

Guys,
Hopefully we can make a Hamonasset meet up happen. If we can't (or even if we do) how about a plan B, which would be to meet up in Poughkeepsie?
Cheezy, Pokite and I will be in Orange, Ct for a week, that's only an hour 20 min from you.

Ok so today the wind is expected to be 10-20 but bad storms this afternoon.
Tomorrow should be 10-15 West winds and no storms.
It looks like good weather the rest of the week at this point. But no news on the wind.

I just got an email that CC is going to be in the Nahant area next week. Ohhh.... this is just like trying to confirm tour dates for a concert.
Need to break out the autograph book, and make sure there is a fresh Bic on hand in case someone gets an impromptu "wave" going. :singing:
I wonder if Cheezy had some T-shirts or tour jackets made up before he left home.
