HR you just described KEEN sandals. I've got a pair that I've owned since before getting my first Beamer and they barely show wear. I wear them at
any warm beach outing. They are sturdy enough to kite in, but they breathe and have a sturdy sole that you can wear all day. In the water and out.
They are much better than barefoot if you scud along when launching a kite. They will really make some tracks. In cooler weather I'll wear them with
wool socks. The combo is free breathing yet warm. Even if you get your feet damp the wool will dry yet keep you warm even while wet. When these
wear out, I'll get another pair just like them.

I'm certainly going to check out the KEEN's. Thats a nice looking sandal. Fare chunk of change tho. A decent pair of tennis shoe's cost about that
also.
I've never had much luck with flip flops. The toe thing bothers me and the one's without it fall off. GF said I need to learn to walk in them. NOT!!!!
I can make it to a shower house and back but thats about it. LOL In the squishie stuff the foot moves and the flop stays then you go back and dig it
out.
This reminds me of a story. Some may want to go back now.
In tent city as we called it, several feet of red mud was brought in to make a huge pad for the base. The tent stakes wouldn't hold in the sand. My
first day in the desert it rained cats and dogs. In front of the tent door was gravel. But step off the gravel and it was mud well over your ankle.
I had to go to the pooper tent 1/4 mile away. Waited until late that night and headed out. I was digging out my flops every other step. Had mud up to
my knees and all over my arms and hands. Finally got there, went in and sat down. In behind me came another GI who sit right beside me and wanted to
chat. 12 places to go and he sits 2 feet away.
So after some brief conversation I got up and left. Made the trek back through the mud and waited a while. Then had to go back through mud and do my
business. 1 muddy mile later I was a mess. Had to clean up with bottles of water. I vowed to never try that again in flip flops. I think of that
every time I see them. I ended up carrying the flops. Feet wouldn't stay on them anyway.
After a while crapping with your buds became pretty regular. and closer crapper tents were set up. Three wide per place the guy in the middle
held the newspaper and all three could read it.
Flip flops?

Keen makes great sandals....also check out some Tevas and Chacos....both very popular down here in the heat! Tevas are impregnated with an
anti-microbial chemical that keeps them from smelling after a few months. I use them to Kayak in.

:bigok: Keen newport H2... that's what I've used for a few years. I have the leather ones which I like a bit better than the nylon / plastic version.
but big thumbs up. I also pack the toe of the sandal with sand when I'm skudding
I've had the same pair for 2yrs w/o much wear!

Teva makes great sandals, but stay away from their shoes. I had a pair fall apart less than a year old and they refused to warranty replace them.

I've had these keens for 4-5 years. I've never had a pair of athletic shoes last more than a year. The keens are worth every penny.
Also, the sock thing is only with jeans, no shorts action with the socks on. They just look like shoes with the socks inside and the socks are about
the same color as the shoes. It's cool not dorky. IMHO

Well went into a sporting goods store today. I saw a KEENS rack and said hold on honey, lets look at these shoes. She wondered off to the lady's side
of the dept. I looked and pondered for about 15 minutes then walked away.
She was headed back my way with a box of KEENs. She said I'm getting these they feel so good and they are on sale for 50 dollars.
So KEENS it is, altho mine wasn't on sale. But I really like em.
Thanks Guys.

They can't be beat when you are flying a kite at the beach. If you get sand inside, just walk down to the water and shake the sand out. Then you are
ready to go to dinner in them too.

Xu skateboarder shoes ... they're so awesome and I bet they don't make them any more Nice flat sole, suede leather and a handy lacing system ... after like 12 years, the heel padding has collapsed in one shoe so they're on their way
out but I do like them!
I recently bought some Nike shoes that are a similar shape and design but are white shiny leather and I just noticed have a ghey reflective Swoosh
:ticking: next thing you know, I'll be drinking Red Bull :shocked2:
I got Ion boot things for the water ... yet to test them ...
Yeah... I got a kite. Or two...

i second the keen choice, have a pair of their hiking boots and 2 pairs of sandals. first pair of sandals is over 5yrs and still kickin, they have a
good amount of cushion are quite comfortable. Their only down side is because they are closed toe you have really try to work to get out any debris
you acquire, but having a closed toe protecting you lil digits is worth the extra fuss.

I've been meaning to say something for a ling time Pokite. That 1.7 sting makes your butt look kinda chunky. Those blurrs seem to have a slimming
