Rust on trucks

Hi guys,

I was just looking at my atb and the shocks in the trucks appear to be rusting slightly..

What should I do to maintain them?

I am currently dismantling one of the trucks but cant seem to get the main bolt (that joins the upper half to lower half of the trucks) out. Any advice?

I was thinking it was probably just stiff, and gonna stick a lump of material on the end and hammer it, just wanted to make sure it wasn't threaded into anything in there...

:dunno:

I'd blast it with silicone spray or wd-40 and let it sit for a bit and then try it again. When my kingpin gets stuck that's what I do and it usually comes right out after that with just some pushing and wiggling.

NEVER USE WD40 ON ANYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

that stuff may break a loose bolt or two, but it is a dirt magnet! If you dont clean all of it off... rust wont be your issue... mad amounts of dirt... half the air tools that come into my shop have that junk on em... the stuff eventually eats rubber... i just hate the stuff... get some rust breaker (specifically named that)
i sell this variety and it works awesome... but pick something like this that wont eat paint and rubber

I just overhauled my scrub quasar and the kingpins just knock out. But if you have notched it with wear it will not come out easily. I completely bead blasted all the metal parts and primed w/ self etch primer and painted real heavy. good as new now.Even got new sheilded bearings from VXB .
