Buggy Fork

Quick and easy questions.

What is the hole for in the top of the foot peg?

Should the bolt that holds the foot peg be installed from the bottom? (probably doesnt matter but I'm here, so)

a) the hole at the end may be for an optional heal strap.

b) A good rule of thumb is always instal the bolt from the top. And the two reasons are...
1. If for some reason the nut does come loose and is lost. The bolt will not be likely to fall out.
2. The head of the bolt is friendlier than the threads sticking out of the nut.

Thank you for your easy questions. You made me feel smart

Hit up Steve at GWTW. He has seat belt webbing in 2 and 3 inch widths. Probably best to grommet the ends.

If you want thinner, hit up your local REI or similar for 1"-2" widths.

Sam

On the flexi buggies people usually use a strap over the foot more than a heal strap. The flexi guys at nabx had what looked like a atb strap type binding so they could tighten it down on their foot.

If you use a strap it seems like I remember people using one strap to cover both feet. Screw it in to the hole on one foot peg ... then wrap it around the fork .. then screw the other side into the opposite peg.

I put an over the foot, continuous strap on my PL Comp Std. It came with the push button, removable foot pegs, but no hole in the end for a bolt/nut, so I used nylon tie wraps to attach the webbing, then folded it back and tie wrapped it again for strength. Then I covered the attachment points with the lime green duck tape!

BTW, Dino, I came up with this for use with the windskate. I cut a tennis ball in half and mounted it on my downtube with nylon tie wraps. I stick the apex of the wing in the cup formed by the 1/2 tennis ball, and brace the lower pad on my thigh. I attached a strop to the center bar, to give more leverage, but it still wants to pull me right out of the seat. Very quick to gain speed, though, so I'm going to work on it some more, getting input from other members at the Wildwood bash.
