Kite dealers near PDX

Hello everyone,
I have been wondering for a while who on here was a kite dealer in or around the Portland, OR or Vancouver, WA area. I'd like to get a feeling of how many people in the area I could make some connections with. I'd like to continue breaking into the "kite scene", so to speak, and making connections with others in the area would be great.

Feel free to send a u2u or just post on here,
-Zach

"Around" is kind of vague.... When I lived in NY I used to drive 5 to 6 hours to grab breakfast up in the Lake George area or a similar distance to grab dinner in Western Mass. ;-)

Guess that is a slight improvement from bicycling all day to visit a bird.

Jon Ellis/Kite Buggy Speed Shop is co-located at Woodland, WA and Sunset Beach, OR. Visit online at kitebuggyspeedshop.com

Also, you can always contact me at bison@theoregonshore.com or send me a U2U and I'll send my phone#

Lots of places to buggy here and a new place has just opened up with a half mile run during a NW wind. Great spot, need bigfoots though.

Thanks for the help all, I will probably start messaging or emailing folks around here just to kind of say "howdy." If there are any other kiters (dealers or not) feel free to let me know :)

I bop between hillsboro and manzanita with a reach to the gorge every now and then. If you want to meet land kiters then sunset beach really is the place to do it. There's not a lot of land flying elsewhere, the coast is just too nice comparatively :D

For water, there's the gorge sites (rooster, event, stevens, ...), sauvie island, and jones beach. Then sunset beach and manzanita at the coast.

Maybe we all need to set a date for sunset so sean and willard can plan a trip up. When are those pink kites gonna get here?!

Awwww crap.... I am going to have to mull over what body part I want to have Jon's contact info tatooed onto (... and no, I am not entertaining suggestions :o ). This is the second time I have left him off a response for a dealer list request.

It just sucks when the brain is at the end of its warranty period. :sniff:

Would love to, but I'm currently at Riverbend hospital with my wife who is on antepartum bed-rest for at least another two weeks. Then I'll be very busy with a newborn for the rest of the summer.

I'll be at the coast this (and almost every weekend) but the wind forecast looks iffy. Might try to hit up friday afternoon to take the v19 out on the water, should be mid teens, or see if I can make a loop around the entire beach.

At the moment I'm working all kinds of early morning, late night, weekday, weekend shifts so setting a date when I will surely be at the beach is tough... EXCEPT for the 29th and 30th. I will be at the beach for my Dad's birthday/hang out at the beach time. If anyone is planning on being near Lincoln City I'll be there! Woo Hoo!
