Kite ATB is 100% open in Aurora City, Colorado.
To all- we just got approval from Aurora City Parks and Rec to ride in city parks, this includes DOVE VALLEY. So come out and and ride.

Flash is right there are some rules that are going to be put into place but they are rules that several of us landboarders got together and came up
with. For the most part they are straight forward (i.e. wear a helmet and use a safety leash) pretty common. The reason we did this is because the
park asked us to. As of right now the rules are in progress and are in the hands of Aurora Parks and Rec. for Red lines and revisions. If you want a
copy that we gave them let me know and I will get one to you. Right now if you go ride at Dove Valley be smart. If you are wondering if something is
ok or you might get in trouble don’t do it. The Parks and Rec. people are very nice and told us today that they want the sport to succeed but at the
same time will shut us down for good if we screw up. So go tear it up but be safe.
Also flash it is a shame to see you go for the summer. You will be missed by us all. Thank you for coming with me to meet with Aurora Parks today. It
would have been pretty intimidating to meet with them on my own. By the way is there cocoanut in the cookie? I swear I tasted some cocoanut.

lol no worries. yes there is coconut... you no likey the the silky nuts?
And yeah, just to re-iterate, a LOT of work was done to get this opened back up, but right now the situation is tentative, so kite like it is
tentative. Definitely kite on the 'safe side' and make a point of being overly cautious. sigh. Sad that it had to come to this.

FWIW it's over two years later and nobody has ever posted the rules, excellent work, organizer. (Nor do I know where a copy of them is located, and
nobody at Aurora Parks has any idea what the hell I'm talking about when I ask them.)
Here's the gist of the rules(can't be exact, since I saw them for only minutes...and that was years ago.):
HELMET AT ALL TIMES. Soccer players get priority field choice. Don't ride in conditions that would tear up the field.
Now, over the past two years, *some people* haven't been following those rules, so there are rumors of new rules, requiring club creation. Sure wish
people would follow simple ideas like "protect yourself" and "don't be a dick".
FLASH did a lot of work on this, and we miss her input.

Considering it was updated 04/2013, would have expected them to be included in the Rules & Regs for Parks, Open Space, and Reservoirs.
Oddly, I could find nothing... even though it has been updated with rules wrt to Geocaching... kind of strange.
