WWOR-ch.9 in the NY TRI-state area will broadcast a show on sun. morning at 11:30 am on Sun 5/30 called SWAP/TV. the basic idea is two kids swap lives
fora week and experience the other kids interests. Well one of the kids is a buggy rider this episode, so the other one has to learn to ride...
It was pretty funny to have my co- workers all excited to show me the episode after all the explaining what it is we do. Ofcourse everyone wants to
try now...:wee:

thats awesome I think its cool when friends/co-workers get excited to see the
wind kick up, or point out a spot they think might be good for kiting. We are going to have a company 4th of July party and I was asked to pick the
location. Naturally I chose a spot that has 4 open soccer fields so I can finally put some ripstop on peoples hands :singing:
That sounds an awful like like the episode that was filmed about 8 year sago up at Wasaga beach here in Ontario - was it Mike Dinsmore teaching a girl
on a foggy beach and Mike Dinsmore junior learns organic farming?
If it is that Canadian show, I'm the guy at the picnic table that delivers the cheesy line about how she can buggy with us anytime as long as she
doesn't go faster than us.

You kill me Mark, I could see you saying that. Funny but our sport really seems to be hitting the air waves lately. Been approached twice in the last
month myself, but hard to get them to understand you need wind to fly....lol.
There was a guy from NY swapped places with a hillbilly in Ga. There was kid at the Ga. household who spoke real southern you might say.
They put subtitles on the bottom of the screen every time this Ga. kid said something. I laughed my butt off.
However, it seemed I could understand him perfectly.
Hey if ya find that episode with the bug, post it up!!!

The segment with Cailtlin trying to learn to buggy was filmed during a weekend kite festival at Wasaga beach which is a great buggy beach but we can
only get on it early spring and late fall. The weekend of the kite fest it was foggy and no wind so they had to come back at a later date to finish
the buggy part. The swap segments are filmed a week apart so the kids are not actually switching at the same time.
When we were having a bbq back at the motel we were having a relaxed time and the crew heard us say a few things they liked then wanted to film us
from 4-5 different angles saying the same thing - hence my really cheesy delivery on that one line.
I seem to remember when she buggied a few feet she went backwards and almost out of the buggy into the water.
I had it taped from the original airing - not sure if TVO put their episodes on line anywhere. I'll see if I can find anything.

many years ago I was also hired to fly kites in a background scene of the "Kung Fu - the legend continues" series with David Carradine.
"try to snatch this kite from my hands grasshopper"
A few years ago Mike Senior (teaching the girl to kite), moved to Ireland, lives close to a huge beach and kites almost every day now.

Mike's a good kite flier but him saying 78 mph (at that time) was way off, especially for that beach. Nothing like putting a 12m kite in the hands of
a newbie - yikes!
That's Dave Aikman over my shoulder and Jim Everding was helping take the kite off the post in the fog - both have come down to NABX with me a few
times.
ha ha - thanks for that trip down memory lane.

"This buggy is very fast, so be carefull."
So what is the top speed in ideal conditions?
"Like 78mph, on a dry lake-bed."
We get "This buggy is very fast-like 78mph"
Or I could be wrong and Mike was stretching reality a little.
