Embedding Links, Pictures, and YouTube Videos in your posts.

The wind sucks soo... I thought I would post a tutorial too help provide proof.
Because remember "It didn't happen without pictures.":wink2:

For a list of BB code click HERE

Links.

To post a link with the address visible.
Use the URL tag.
Code:
[color=red][ URL][/color]http://www.example.com[color=red][ /url][/color]

Without the spaces gives you;
http://www.example.com

----

However sometimes the address is long and unsightly.
To hide the address use the URL= tag.
Code:
[color=red][ url=[/color]http://www.example.com[color=red]][/color]Example[color=red][ /url][/color]

Without the spaces gives you; Example

Remember the"[ ]'s" and to close the code with a "/" in the last Tag.

----------------------------

Pictures. (Click the images to view larger.)

Quote:
PKF rules concerning this, HERE

5. Images and Movies:

5.1. Images posted to this forum must have a maximum width of 700px and a maximum file size of 300k.

5.2. Member avatars must be 100w x 125h pixels or smaller.

5.3. Do not post hard or soft pornographic images in forum threads or member avatars.

5.4. Only kite-related YouTube movie links. All others will be removed.

EDIT 6/3/10
Also I brought this up here to lessen the strain on you scrolling finger:lol:. The reason I didn't originally mention it was force of habit and not thinking of this method.

Use it to browse for the file on your hard drive and upload. With this method, there is no need to insert any bb code.

In the near future, we'll be able to attach multiple images per post.

/EDIT

First you have to upload the images to an image hosting site IE Tiny Pic, Picasa, Photo Bucket or one of the numerous others each have there advantages and disadvantages. I prefer Tiny Pic due to its simplicity and the easy resizing.

To use Tiny Pic.

Click "Choose File"

1 Find and select the image you want to post.
2 Click "Open"

1 Add any tags you want. (To assist search engines in finding your image.)
2Select a resizing option if needed.
3Click "Upload Now!".

Highlight and copy the "IMG Code for Forums & Message Boards"

Paste the code into your post.

----

For images that are already hosted somewhere.
Use the IMG tag.
Code:
[color=red][ IMG][/color]http://i50.tinypic.com/slllhh.jpg[color=red][ /IMG][/color]

Without the spaces gives you;

----------------------------

YouTube Videos.

You need the "Video ID" found in the address bar of the video, copy this.

Use the YOUTUBE tag and paste the ID.
Code:
[color=red][ YOUTUBE][/color]tV-q27wisQQ[color=red][ /YOUTUBE][/color]

Without the spaces gives you my lame movie;

----

I hope this helps someone.
Any feedback is welcome and appreciated.:thumbup:
