What not to do....
Hey so as a new guy when it comes to power kites I had my 1st crash into a wall about 2months ago, it was at a nice 30Mph wind speed (I now have a
helmet) any-ways I am now a little scared of my kite.... It kicked my ass all over the place that day and I was in pain for 2weeks. So I was wondering
what tips you guys have for noobs like me other than don't fly in 30Mph winds.

You fly... a 4m Beamer, based on your other post? Yeah, don't fly it in 30 mph.
Or was that a 3m Beamer IV? In that case it could be used in those wind speeds, but only in nice clean wind (ie straight off the ocean). And even
then, more experience first would likely be good.

Yeah its a HQ Beamer IV 4m. The max wind speed is 27Mph. I would like to start just getting pulled around but still having full control of the kite
after that I will prob get into landboarding.

Try 10-15mph until you get REALLY comfortable. I know my 4m Beamer is way to much of a handful in that kind of wind even being careful.

I just read your post again...I would say if you have to fly in that heavy of wind and you cannot get another kite....
Keep the kite moving slow (fly using some brakes) especially thru the middle of the wind window. It will keep the power down some :dunno:

I'm not small and have been fliing for a couple years. But I would not fly my 4m in wind like that. Even using the breaks. Ok well maybe if I was in
my buggy and in offshore winds. But other than that slow it down and enjoy for another day.

Thanks for all the tips. It was 100% mybad for flying it in 30Mph winds, I have
now bought a anemometer so I can tell the wind speed and it will be a long time until I feel safe with it again. So a safe wind speed would be
anything up-to 15Mph?

Good on you for getting a meter and being receptive to some good advise. IMO yes....tops of 15mph for the time being. You will know when you are
ready for more.

Thanks for your help. They are another little thing that happened that day lol,
it picked me up 5M and I landed on my chest (it hurt a lot) was so shocked at the speed it picked me up at :wow: so for now I like ground under my
feet. I hope 15Mph winds wont lift me I am about 11 and a half stone (161lbs).

I am by no means an expert on this....however at that weight you may be on the limit at 15mph. I would encourage you to always fly in as light of wind
as possible to start. If your 4m is picking you up like that it is to strong for you right now. You should feel COMPLETELY in control while you are
flying.
They say you should not be leaving the ground (kite jumping stuff) with under a 5m because of how hard they can drop you. You have already over
experienced this. I would hate for you to get scared off by getting hurt at this early stage of flying.
I would start as low a speed as possible and work your way up. My 4m starts flying at about 6mph.
