Price is really good if the kite is in good shape. My son buggies with a 3 meter Scout. There are some pictures in this forums Gallery of him riding
with the Scout at the 2009 Jibe. While it certainly is not the ultimate buggy engine, its not a bad place to start. So the takeaway is...just get
started and have fun!!

There's no real difference other than the bar (vs handles) between a Scout and a Beamer. If the kite is in good shape, go for it.

Actually there is quite a difference between the Scout and the Beamer. The Scout has a different shaped wing and a lot more internal bracing and is
geared more towards the mountain boarder or for people looking for a little more lift.
Both the Scout and the Beamer are great beginner to intermediate kites that are super easy to fly, plenty of power and super stable.
For the price, the Scout would be a great deal as long as it is in good condition (doesn't have any rips/tears, lines and bar are in good shape).
Hope this helps.

Actually the scout is designed for land boarding, and snow kiting. Yes, you can buggy with it, but it was not designed for that. HQ's kite designed
for buggying is the Beamer IV.

The fact that HQ doesn't really push the Scout as a buggy engine might have some basis in the above.
For the Scout 2 they have moved the crossover pulleys into the bridle and cleaned up the bar end side of the equation which may make it more popular
for the buggy.
