Wanted Landboard / Moutainboard

New to Kiting and bitten by the bug, now deciding to get my feet wet with landboarding (actually i want to keep my feet dry, not kiteboarding for me!)

Looking for a used but still working and lots of fun board for a newb like myself to learn on, do some kite free riding, dont see myself doing a lot of jumps just yet so doesnt have to be a great stunt board.

If you have an old board you started out on and no longer use post some photographs and what you'd accept.

Would prefer someone local (Boston, MA area) but willing to pay postage if you are a reliable seller/poster on here.

Thanks in advance!

Can't beat a GI deck complete for $90+ shippin. Most likely you'll have a tough time beating this deal, and you can buy with confidence from a known and respected member of the community. (As a new person, watch out for ebay auctions from 'jonesband' see many threads on this site about him for negative experiences.)

Welcome to a great time!

Posting height and weight will help in the search for a board.

I think Tridude's GI Patrol 106 ($125 + shipping) might still be available.

And, I am going to copy the info that I posted in another thread, as I think both boards are still up for grabs.

Big Mike talked about being amenable to being convinced to part with his here. His post is #9 in that thread. It's a GI Patrol 106 (no price set).

Dylan talked about considering letting his GI Flight Lite 100 ($130, shipped) go in this thread. His post is #7.

ATB,
Sam

Just sayin', the help you guys offer a newbie is amazing. Well done.

A newbie will find a good board and some lucky guy will end up with a little more cash in his/her wallet to buy something else. Makes for a healthy ecosystem, eh?

Agreed, I've PMd and posted on a couple of the posts for boards for sale, so hopefully will find something.

Meanwhile what do guys think of this board, is this too small for a 190lb 6ft guy? I love the price but fear it's perhaps a junior board, beginner board i dont mind but one too light for me wont work.

The 2009 version of that was called the "Lil Bomber" and was indeed targeted for kids.

The 2010 Bomber says it's not just for kids anymore, but the 7 ply construction and the skate trucks might still be a little on the underbuilt for you. I can give GI a call tomorrow and check.

At 6 ft, the 18 inch deck stance (distance between the bindings) might be a little narrow for you (depending on how much of the 6 ft is legs ;) ). All the rest start at 19.5 inches and go up to 21". 1.5 -3 inches difference may not sound like much, but...

Sam

The Lil' Bomber (2009 board) is for smaller and younger riders, rated up to 90 lbs. The Bomber that you list in your link is larger and heavier duty than the Lil' Bomber - but still only rated up to 150 lbs.

We have some closeouts on some remaining stock right now that may work for you. I would recommend the AK 103 Bionic (1 left) or the Patrol 106 (4 left).

thanks indigo_wolf and awindofchange, i'd be pushing it even on a 150lb board, I'm more like 185 but its all muscle mass you understand? ;)

I will check out your link, thanks again everyone, after trying out a friends MBS yesterday I'm determined to buy the right board soon!
