Help me meet buggiers near Wilimington, NC

I'm an American who has been living in London. I'll soon be taking a rare trip back home to visit relatives and would love to go buggying while I'm there. I'll be in Caswell Beach for the last week of July and Wilmington for the first few days of August.

I figure my best chance is to find some guys who are out on the beach and try to blag a go, so if you know the best spots for me to head for I'd like to hear it. Also, if you know a school who can rent me some gear, or give me a lesson (I don't really need instruction but whatever it takes to get on the beach with a buggy) I'd like some names. I've had no luck Googling kite shops near Wilmington.

Any suggestions?

Unfortunately, this isnt the greatest time of year for beach going, as you would be dodging all the tourists who are sunbathing, or doing whatever it is that people do on the beach in summer. I also do not know the area you will be visiting well enough to recommend where to go. If you were a little farther north, I could recommend some spots in the Washington DC area that are not totally horrible. As it is, that would be a bit of a hike from Wilmington.

Best of luck to you.

Sorry to hear that. I have this memory of a beach that goes on forever.....

Yesterday I went to Camber Sands in Kent. There must have been 40 kitesurfers laying their stuff all over the beach, and 4 buggiers dodging them and the little kids with buckets and spades.
