How do you guys get your kites and small incidentals to your flying location? I have a duffel bag that I keep all my fixed bridles and small nick nacks in. Don't have to think about it. Just grab that bag and I'm set for fb flying no matter what. Talk about the PL pro bag in another thread has me thinking I could do the same for my arcs and the pro bag is just perfect for most if not all my arcs. But do I really need to take all my arcs from 8 to 19m with me every time? Probably not. Those bags are really cool though! :shocked2: :smug: How do you guys get your kites to the field or beach? Trailers need not apply. I don't have anywhere to keep it and being in CA, I.....can't............drive.........................fifty five! I have room for everything in the back of the yukon xl, so this is just an organization question.

Using a PL Pro bag for kites and protective gear. Have a tool box dedicated to the buggy. And of course the 50 Qt Wheeled Xtreme 5 Cooler for the Red Bull.

What you don't bring that day is what you'll end up needing. Bring it all with you.

I almost always have everything in the car, try to lug it all down to the riding location. I normally just stack the kites on top of my buggy and pull it all down....

Hockey bag for the kites, Gorilla (Peter Lynn) backpack for Harness, Helmet, and other gear. Tool box with all sorts of repair stuff. Thats in the car (Pathfinder). Buggys; Virus and Compition on the roof, Full Race and Dragster on a rack in back.
If I am driving along way just for a week end I normally throw all the buggys in a trailer and taking the C'eed, it gets way better milage.

At the spot; If the car is near by I just leave everything in it. If I need to walk awhile I pile everthing on the buggys and pull it there. Once on the beach I have a 2 second tent that gets thrown up and everything get put inside.

Good idea on the pop-up tent. Less worry about your gear while you are out on a ride away from buggy camp! I stack whichever kites I think I'll need, safety gear, soft side cooler and folding chair on the buggy, and tow it to my set-up spot. I once had a guy offer me 20 bucks for my cart, so he could put his large wheeled cooler on it to pull back to his car, he said the cooler didnt pull well in the sand. Then I just stack everything under/beside the folding chair with my windicator pole at one corner of the chair, and a kite-stake holding down the other corner of the chair. That doesn't seem to stop the inquisitive kids with indifferent parents though, I pulled back up to my spot after a run to see a toddler (3-4 yrs at most) poking around my kite bags/cooler which were stacked as above, so I landed the kite 3-4 feet from the kid, staked it out and went to kneel next to the child to explain that it was rude and impolite to touch other peoples stuff that doesn't belong to them, something that mom never did for the child evidently, when of course mom decides to come over then, not to reprimand the child, but to ask what I was talking to him about. Some people. I just told her I was explaining to the child that the equipment wasn't safe for kids to play with, and she went away muttering how I shouldn't leave unsafe equip. around for some kid to get hurt with, how I could have hurt her child landing my kite so close to him, etc. I didn't worry too much about her, though, the parks people already had to talk to this group because despite all the signs saying stay off the dunes, this crowd (about 20 adults/children) walked right up and set up in the middle of them!

Yes of course bring it all. I always do except if I know the wind is blowing 30 that day, I won't bring the 19m venom and maybe not the 15m arcs.
My question is about in between the house and the flying spot. Are the kites in their individual bags? Are they out of their bags and grouped in a duffle? In their individual bags in a duffle?And particularly, does the big PL pro bag work for you? Depowers the same questions.

I'm thinking it would be counterproductive with the arcs, but the PL pro bag might be nice to throw over the shoulders when leaving the car to get the fixed bridles to the spot.

i'm the minimalists

one kite (no bag), harness and whatever the ride might be, my water bottle is attached to the harness. that way nothing is left.

the unfortunate tube factor has this pump thing, hence the ALL-terrain arc factor fits me best.

Trailer Now that said I usually take 1/2 of my kites, leave the really small or really large kites, since I'm only a few blocks from the beach. But I usually carry my 2.5 rage when I go out.. just in case

I can't imagine you can fit more than one arc in a pro bag, arcs are just mass fabric. I guess you could build a multi compartment stuff bug but that would be pretty insane.

I have a single very large bag that contains all kites, all safety gear, and my board. Yes, it takes up a majority of the trunk, but its like "Mary Poppins" when a near-endless pile of stuff gets removed from it.

600 dollar weatherguard tool box..... got it for free cuz of a small dent from factory... its packed full of kites and atb... then the bug sits on top

so far I've been fortunate to just drive right close to where I am kiting. I leave in the back (pathfinder) what I don't use. Usually I break down buggy to keep everything compact, the kites come still in the bag. I've had one long walk to setup point where I put everything in the buggy and used the clip straps all joined together as a wrap around strap to hold everything down. But it has been kinda worrying me about the inevitable time that I need to take everything and leave it in a place where someone can mess with it, while I'm out riding. The tent idea seems like a good idea. Kind of an indication that you didn't just abandon everything. Seems like if it were enclosed like that no one would open it up and look outside.

OOhhh and yes each kite in its own bag, Some of them are just in Laundry bags or stufsacks instead of the original backpacks but I find it is much easier then having the kites like Rip has in his picture

i was borrowed at work one day, so it gave me an excuse to make Labels.

if kites didnt come with packing straps than I would go with the backpack if it was plain and had no shoulder straps ... something like the nylon bags that U-Turn and Libre supply with their kite only series.

@chris, i hope you're a light sleeper, since Ill be playing with your ApeXX at night. for the record, I never sleep. you might want to take it to the room with you. hehehe.

I can mostly drive right up to the beach so everything stays in the back of the car.

for the couple of locations that i have to walk a little ways I have a 100litre holdall which takes 2 or 3 FB kites and all my safety gear.

My ATB is stored in a Scrub Board bag in transit but i usually take it out where i'm parked and carry it.

Kitesurf and snowboards have custom fit carry cases & I never use my buggy!

If i wanted to fly with my gear (snow kiting) i would get a bigger board bag and load all my clothes and stuff in with that. That way I would have room in my standard luggage for kites.

When I have flown with boards before the airlines seem to have a flat rate for "sports equipment" but your normal luggage is by weight.

Sorry to say it but I use a 7' X 9' box trailer. Some you saw it in NJ! Nothing left to chance. 2 buggies, far to many kites from little kid single lines to pass out at events to 255 Suttan a pair of 20 ft deltas with all the extras and many more. A pile of fixxed bridles. about 30 winders of line, a bunch of chairs. And the all important food stuff coolers charcoal grills.
