I am getting a bit fed up of flying my kite alone (the rest of the family aren't kite fans other than my rather agile grandma whos willing to help out) so I would like to know a fairly popular flying spot in Suffolk. The old part of Felixstowe can have good wind but other than the odd kite surfer once in a blue moon, its very lonely. I'm now thinking about buying a 4 metre sort of size power kite but would like to go somewhere where there is help and advice at hand. Transport isn't good however so I don't want to venture too far from home (Ipswich).

Try the Grove at Felixstowe it's normaly a good place to fly.

Avoid Saturdays during the footie season as there are several pitches .:singing:

Hi DJ as far as i know buggies are allowed. As for getting there, if coming from Ipswich on the A14 go straight over the dockspur roundabout and head for old Felixstow straight over the nextround about you will then come to another roundabout turn left at this one down a small lane by some horse's and the carpark is at the bottom on the right.walk up past the brick building and you will find the playing field.

I know that lonely feeling, brother.
I buggied by myself (mostly) for 6-7 years.

I taught a lot of folks to buggy in those years, but almost none that lived nearby (the U.S. covers some 3000 miles coast-to-coast) on the central California coast.

I got my first buggy in the spring of 1991.
By summer I had 4.
Letting someone ride your buggy means you can't.
So I had loaners.
Still, the weekends were lonely.

I want to live in that world?
I've got to be that guy.

So I keep teaching the fundamentals.
Helping folks find their way into this game.
Now my local playa has riders every weekend and more.

Mid-way through my second decade on the buggy, it is entertaining to hear how tough it has become.
But be of good cheer... Better days are coming.

They always are.
