GPS Software

After buying a basic Garmin Etrex GPS, basically only to record my maximum speed when out in the buggy.

Curiosity got the better of me, for I sought out some software for use with my Garmin, programme is called Garmin Connect.

Have found it easy to use, no upload hassles, just have to make sure batteries in the Garmin are realatively fresh.

It also has a playback mode in which you can analyse your trip, to see which leg you went fastest in etc.

Experience is something you get, just after you need it!

Does the eTrex not yet support and USB cable that simultaneously provides power and data exchange? I know when I had my eTrex they were still using serial cables even though USB had been out for quite a while. Drove me absolutely bonkers.

They are still using serial cables, but the good news is they finally have a usb to serial converter cable. Garmin really needs to bring their cables in to the 21st century.
