line length

hi guys.
been having a problem with my 5.0 metre beamer
it keeps spining on take off and crashing upside down i checked al,l the bridle lines and no tangles but the problem still persisted so i staked the lines out to check if they were equal lengths the flying lines were spot on in length but one brake line was 2" longer than the other so would this explain the spinning to one side on take off .the wind speed was crap to day so did'nt get a chance to make any adjustments. i have a spare set of lines which i will check out but was just wondering if i'm on the right lines here ( sorry crap joke. ) .

thanks in advance Rickenma

Buggy Brother,
Which brake line was longer?
The one on the side it spun to?
Probably it was the other side brake line.

I'd guess both your brake lines are too short.
The top lines on bridled foils "creep" as they transfer the power.
That "creep" is the same as shortening your brake lines.

Add 6-8 inches (sorry, I'm a 'merican) to the end of the bottom leads on your handles and let the brakes out until they sag. (Might need even more than 8")

For the buggy, I ride with just enough brake that full-reverse on the handles backs the kite up. If it collapses while backing-up, that means the brakes are still on a bit.

In nearly 15 years of teaching power kites and the buggy, that is the most common tune-up tip. Try it, you'll see.

Safen Up! Buggy On!
