Primm is about a 40 minute drive from Vegas. If you avoid rush hour it is a pretty easy drive. Dirtslide and some others that I know of who come with
family uninterested in kiting find it a good compromise. You can leave your buggy in a lock up so don't have to drag it in and out of Vegas daily.
Most of those major Hotels on the strip offer good rooms + location.
The Hotels at Primm are not TOO bad. 3 of them connected by rail, all Vegas Casino style with pools hot tubs etc.. Lot's of food choices, outlet mall
and amusement park. Food, rooms and things are much much cheaper in Primm.
If you get your room at Buffalo Bill's with the NABX code you can be assured a cut rate price + NABX gains hotel credits to help them with many
things.
There are 2 other Hotels One with slightly higher rate that tries to be a bit higher class is the Primm Valley Hotel. The other is slightly less
expensive but ends up about the same or more than our discount rate. It does allow pets though ?
C'ya on the Playa !:wee:
Kites: 2.5m Profoil , Quadrifoil XL kitesurfer, NPW 5 Danger.
Flexifoil: 1.7m Sting, 4.9m Blade 3, 9m Blade 2.
Flysurfer : 19m Speed 2 SA, 7m Pulse
Peter Lynn :18m Phantom, 15m Synergy, 10m Synergy, 1200 Farc, 460 Sarc, 130 Tarc, 5m Peel, 4.2m , 6.4, 8.5 C-Quads, 3.5 LS2 single skin.
Rides: Flexi / P.L. Frankin'Buggy , Shaped + straight skiis, sand skis, Coyote blades. Core 95 ATB. RKB R2 ATB .

Luxor, NY NY are both very nice hotels. Next to those two are the Excalibur, Mandalay Bay, MGM Grand and the Monte Carlo, also very nice hotels that
are absolutely beautiful. The Tropicana is right across the street but is a lot older and not quite as nice but you can get rooms there for a
fraction of the price sometimes around 45 - 65 a night....the pool area is beautiful but the rooms are in need of refurbishing.
If you want off the Strip, the Green Valley Ranch is beautiful and runs about the same price as the Luxor. The RedRock is out there a ways but also
very beautiful.
On the strip the City Center is brand new, just opened up a few months ago and has the metropolitian and Aria hotels. The City Center was a 6 billion
dollar plus developement and you could spend all week there and still not see everything. Rooms should be more reasonable during NABX time so that
may also be an option.
Planet Hollywood is just down the Strip a skip from the Ny NY and MGM, has a HUGE shopping mall and all the bells & whistles for your lady.
Another top place is the Venician and the Palatzo.
For hotels you have more selections that the buffet line. If you need any inside info on any of them then let me know and I can tell you pretty much
anything about any of them. Most of the places here are 3-5 star hotels and have every amenity you could imagine.
As mentioned above, the Primm hotels are right next to the lake bed but not quite as nice as the ones right in Vegas. The Primm Valley hotel just
went through a major overhaul on the rooms so they are pretty nice but still nothing like being on the Strip. If you can handle the 45 minute drive
to and from the lake bed then staying in Vegas is a pretty awesome experience.
Hope that helps.

Really it's hard to go wrong with any of the big name hotels. Stay away from circus circus, riveria area hotels and bales area. MGM, Luxor, nyny,
Mandalay, all great. Personally I get the beat deals at MGM and Monte Carlo which frankly I think are by far the best for the $s.

Yup, we always have tires, unless Brian is doing major freestying then we may be a bit low at times. LOL He seems to go through a set of tires every
week when he rides hard.

Thanks for making me think. There is no reason we can't make the code work for all three hotels at Primm. Negotiations begin this week.
NABX 2011 is cranking up the ol' get 'er done engine!
Bigger, better, badder, more and more of what we want with surprise guests, two new contests, and more Out n Back!
aoxomoxoa will be found~!

Yes, yes, yes, NABX is cranking slowly, so please let me know, as i expect to sign the contract with the hotel in the next week to ten days if you
might be coming any earlier than the 28th.
I'm getting us rates for the whole week so if you come in early you will be able to use the room code.
I know it's far out, but that's how it works, we have to guess and hope we get it right.
We are looking at additional packages as well that should help with the overall costs.
Official Dates for the NABX 2011: March 29th through April 3, with that Sunday being a make up day or free day.
aoxo on the horizon~!

Hi all thanks for all this great info. Now the Aussie dollar is near parity with the US dollar.
NABX 11 maybe a reality reather than a pipe dream.
Question being, is it possible to hire a bug and kites for the duration,
And can pickups be hired also.
Experience is something you get, just after you need it!

If by accommodation you mean hotels, the ones at NABX (Primm, Nevada) are casino hotels so they are cheap about $30- $45 a night depending on the day
of the week. An entire week there is about the cost of one New York City room night. These are not the top-end hotels in Las Vegas discussed earlier
in the thread but decent and livable. You can book anytime but be sure to use the booking code for NABX so that the organizers get credit for the
booking.
As for renting pickups, if you mean truck, you can rent SUV's in 'Vegas if you have a lot of gear to carry, but any kind of car can make it on to the
lake bed.
As for renting a buggy, that is not common in the USA due to insurance and liability, but it is likely you could borrow or at least share gear.
Natives tend to be respectful of those traveling a great distance to get to NABX so will generally try to work something out. If I get there this
next year I'd certainly share.

That is great news!!
Link to NABX registration is here...
http://www.nabx.net/registration/
...but closed till Nov 1. Hotel codes should be up by about then or shortly after. Plenty of time on that but not too early to look at airline
bookings.
Bring some more Roo Scarers!! Mine are lost- probably taken by a pissed off animal. Worked good though, haven't hit a single Roo on Jekyll Island!

There are 3 hotels at Primm, Nevada (NABX site), all operated by the same parent company. Typically the NABX block of rooms is at Buffalo Bill's.
There is nothing at Primm except for the three hotels, a fashion shopping mall, 2 convenience stores and some fast food restaurants. All surrounded
by desert with a highway running through it all.

Yes, and a pretty violent one at that. Takes getting used to, looking out your upper story hotel window and seeing 40 people flying by, screaming.
Everything about Primm is so far out of context it is just surreal.

Codes are specific to a hotel. But that is the Wild, Wild West and business is down still so rates are bound to be competitive. Maybe some locals
there can chime in with more specific info. The Strip will astound you in any event.
