3rd Time the charm? Maybe not.

Recently I started college here in Las Cruces, New Mexico, and generally I wanted to continue kiting. I brought down all my kiteboarding equipment the third week of classes, and of course the nice winds that we have been having, completely die.

As I type this the winds are a steady 15-20mph, but I cannot go out. Unfortunately for me, my GI Prodigy 90 has once again broken, by some minor use I would say. This is the third time it has broken, second time the kingpin has snapped. But this time I was letting friends ride it down a small grass hill. No 10ft jumps with the kite or anything.

Anybody have opinions on some trucks that aren't so ungodly pieces of crap?

I am by no means a intense rider, so I would hope things wouldnt break every month, but maybe its normal?

Thanks,
Brian

If they are the skate trucks.... dump them. Until GI/MBS/etc get rid of the sintered plates and bits, I am not a fan of them.

The Prodigy 90 should be drilled for Torsion Bionics in addition to the skate trucks.... you just won't be using the black rubber riser.

If you wanted to do Spring Bionics you would have to drill 2 additional holes for the adjustment screws.

The Torsion Bionics are primarily adjustable by swapping out cubes at ~ $24.00 a set.

The Spring Bionics you can adjust by using 1 of 3 different durometer (stiffness) eggs, and also by adjust the tension screws.

Don't know if the hole pattern is the same for the various MBS Matrix trucks.... thought they were, but you would have to confirm. In which case, they would be another option.

Not particularly cheap either way, but better than constantly waiting on new parts.

They actually shipped the Prodigy 90 out in both truck configurations. When I got mine, I was surprised to find Bionic Trucks on them.

ATB,
Sam
