I wouldn't die them. If you fly in the snow or at the beach or the lines get damp or wet you stand a good chance of the die bleeding off the lines into your sail or bag and that won't be pretty. Just mark your handles or your leaders and use that to tell right from left. Youd don't need color-coded lines. All my LPG lines are white (left, right, brakes) its not that confusing once the lines are sorted and the kite launched.

Shouldn't weaken them, but you might find that they run later on.... possible staining your kites.

Factory dying is much more fade/run-resistant.

I fly both colored lines with power kites and white lines with dual lines and Revs.

Aren't the lines sleeved in different colors?

Sam

Spectra is a HMW polyethylene. The dye probably will not penetrate the fibres as it would a non-synthetic like cotton. For coloured lines they colour the raw material and then draw the fibres.

I have used Sharpie felt marker on lines without issue ? Not for colour but small marks for stopper balls etc..

I think you are talking Pansh lines so I think green for brake is correct ? At least my Pansh lines came that way ? As you know, your heavier / stronger lines go on the front. No matter the colour.

If they are Pansh lines you don't have to dye them they are " dead " already ! :smug:
