Neo 2

Feel kinda silly asking this question but here goes -

The 5th line goes through a cross over line.

The two front main lines go from the kite and meet to form a single line (i.e. Y connector point).

I'm assuming the 5th line goes UNDER this Y connector point and not OVER.

Is this correct?

Yes sir. It will trail behind the kite in a decent sized arc. Having the 5th line on top of the Y will not hurt things too much but would just be messy, IMO.

Thanks Angus...I actually threw the Neo 2 for the first time last Friday and when I deployed to the 5th it was flying in the air for quite some time...and had quite a little pull to it....kinda had the look of those Manta's that people used on lakes and were towed behind boats. It did not function like my flysurfer at all which totally kills the power to the kite and goes straight to the ground...I had the 5th line over the Y....so I am really hoping that it makes a difference...hopefully today I will confirm for sure.

BTW, on my 1st attempt, I had the main front lines connecting to the 2nd knot on the Y connector not at the very end of the Y. Have you flown it like this....because it flew like crap for me...it kept on collapsing...I'm assuming it caused the leading edge to tilt to far forward.....

Yeah it might be better behind the "Y". I have modded my original NEO 1 11m and mgatc's Neo 1 8m for 5th line safety. HQ was right; using the bridle measurements for the Neo 2 on the 1 will not work well so I had a lot of fiddling to do. In the end I think my Neo 1 5th line tacos better than the 2. Try shortening the 5th line segment that is above the Amsteel lower segment to give it more scope. I made the two side pieces that go from the center 5th line ring to the main toggles a bit longer to allow the wing tips to fold back more.

That actually surprises me. I have flown on 2nd knot with no trouble and remember flying on the first knot on the Neo 1 but have not tried that on the 2 yet. Will try it though.

I have always found the Neos to be rock solid stable - almost as much as the Phantom
