DWK is hosting another free kite clinic Friday Oct 1 at West Potomac Park in Washington DC. The wind and sun look like they will both make an
appearance this Friday.
This free clinic is aimed at those who are curious about kite sports and want to get involved and learn the basic skills and see the equipment
involved. I will teach participants how to read the wind, pick safe flying locations, use the wind to their best advantage and of course fly a power
kite. I will also have many types of equipment for kiteboarding (water), snowkiting (snow) and land kiting (mt board and buggy kiting) on hand for
participants to learn about.
We will meet at West Potomac Park (see "Kite Spots" on
http://www.desertwindkiteboarding.com/kite_spots/kite_spots.... for exact location) at 1PM on Friday Oct 1, 2010. The park is small enough you
will see the kites but I am generally at the SE end of the park. No need to bring anything except some water, food, sunglasses and maybe some
sunscreen. The class generally lasts a few hours but can go much longer for those who have the energy and are excited to practice.
I may also attempt a Sunday kite clinic but crowds and a lack of wind might be a problem. If you are interesting in attending a free kite clinic but
cannot make the Friday clinic, please get in touch with me and I will make it happen for you.
