First flight
Well went out to a soccer field with the family and we flew the HQ Symphony 1.8 when the wind was cooperating it was awsome but the wind was only
consistant for a couple minutes then gone. Now if only the wind gods would be kind LOL definately hooked. Just a little more saving and I will be
ordering my HQ Rush III 350 Yahoo!

I don't think that a lot of people give the Symphonys a fair shake. They are great fun at a decent price. Have a good time out there.

I turned my symphony 1.4 into a three line kite by attaching a line to the spots on the trailing edge where the tails were made to attach. I also put
it on a bar like my Ozone imp trainer and my kids love flying it. Great to hear another good experience

I have a Symphony Beach 1.7 that is on a bar and my 5 year old loves it. I was trying to teach my mom how to fly the kite and my son kept stepping in
front of her and taking the bar saying, "Let me show you how it's done grandma." It's good up to about 15mph winds for him. Any more than that and
he has a hard time controling it.

Power per sq meter goes up GREATLY in the smaller sizes.
You will be shocked at how different the 350 will feel. Going from 1.8 to 5m ???
I find that kites don't act like adults until they grow to over 2.5 meter in size. At about that point they stop zipping all over the place like a 2
year old that just learned to run. They start to act more like a wing providing prolonged lift / pull and slow down.
If you go straight to a 5m you will NEED a high wind kite down the road. That said. I find a 5m is about the best " single " fixed bridle . Too small
for low wind, too big for high wind but a good wide mid wind range if you switch up lines + flying styles.
You don't mention your goals? Do you want to ride something or just fly static?

Notice how the Pushkiting boys and most videos you see if skilled ATB riders are all riding " depower " kites !
If you want to Go like LoLO you may want to look at depower kites !
Instead of saving for a 350 you may want to be shopping for a good used 7ish meter depower ? I'm not up on pricing but say the 350 is $300 . Another
$100 should get you a decent depower ? Selling symphony to help make up the difference wouldn't be the worst move ?

can't sell the symphony the wife and kids love it LOL. Not being able to self launch is a headache when my wife is flying I am able to fly for long
periods put it where I want it and land it when I am finished. I definately listen to you guys I just don't want to waste money if a bigger depower
is a better choice I will probably save until summer or snag a good deal on here.

Is the 350 actually ordered or was it just the plan ?
Do you have any other riders around ? Learning all on your own is a lot tougher. + locals have the best insight on what works for your area.
It is a tough set of choices ahead. If you went for a 5m fixed bridle you can fly it right off the handles. Then buy a harness and hook in. To go with
depower you have the added expence of needing the harness right off. If money is extra tight one angle is : buy a quality used 5m ish ( Dakitze is
selling a 4.9 Reactor I right now at a good price ) to progress and then sell it to help fund the depower. In the mean time buy a harness and get used
to flying / riding hooked in. You should be able to buy , use and sell a good kite like the Reactor I with almost no loss in kite value. You lose only
the original shipping + maybe $25 - 50 on the resale ? MAX !
New kites drop MUCH more in value so if resale is the plan buy + sell Quality used .

no I didn't order the rush I was looking at the 3m twister II as well like you said hard decisions to make would like to stick to a bar though. I am
sure in the summer I might be able to meet someone at lake simcoe but the lessons are so expensive probably worth it but very pricey.

I had a dispointing intro to my 7.7m Twister II on a bar. It was a much better kite on handles.
I have heard similar reports about the 3m but haven't tried one either way.
If you are going to buy / fly a fixed bridle I HIGHLY suggest you go to handles. I spent a lot of time trying to enjoy FB on a bar. Handle won out,
hands down ! I never tried a Turbo bar . It is different and I here very good but $$$ .
To get the most / widest wind range out of a kite handles and short lines are your best / cheapest way to go.

While 240 will hold down alot of kite if you go over 5m starting out it will be a handful for you. My brother weighs 220 and got tossed by my 5m flow
like it was nothing.
IMO the 5m flow would be an awesome kite for you.

symphony , is solid fun and can teach a ton
plus++PLUS.. super easy to add a stick on the straps as well
and now get the bar feel ! which adds even tighter control and helps arm/ hand position for centralized input.
