Redundant but,... Nahant on Monday, Oct 11?
Never have been but heard enough about it and the man is back from his business trip tomorrow so thinking of spending the holiday trying out my luck
at Nahant. Want to check it out too so hopefully it is s nice day in all respects.
That said, would love to be able to meet up if anyone is interested in going? A kind of "pre-wwbb" session?
BTW - name is Kristen (and Anderson)

I was there for the first time in a year or more and had a blast.
The west wind was gusty and beware the shadows from the berms and bathhouse. East is better but Ive had to catch kites in the parking lot :o
either way when the wind is not perfect on/off shore you need to tack very differently - screaming upwind one way and controlled downwind the other/
helps to put the kite deep in the window and depowered or 11-12-1 figure eights
enjoy!!!

Kristen
Nahant truly is a great place to kite and has a lot to offer, but it's biggest asset to you right now is its experienced kiters. You can learn more
from a lesson and observing others in one day than you could in weeks by yourself.
I would love to meet up with you guys, but Monday is not a holiday for me. I can stop by after work, but the days are getting short and there will
not be much daylight left by the time I get there.
Dean is quite right about the tides being against you on Monday. If you just want to static fly it doesn't matter, but if you want to ride it will be
difficult from noon till 4. If you can't make it in the morning to meet up with Dean, and no one is available in the afternoon I would consider
another day. You have a much better chance of a meet up on a weekend.

I c an't make it on Monday either but I may be able to get there early in the morning on Sunday - though I hear the temps are going to be cold, if the
winds look good I'm going to try to ride Sunday morning.

Wish we could go both Sun and Mon but too much goings on...
Would love to meet up as well as we still have never been with anyone who is an experienced kiter (or even a silght novice for that matter). I am SURE
i am doing enough wrong so to even just see it done right would be a great intro to WW for us.
Thanks for all the info - was planning on just some static flying and maybe trying to get the board rolling under foot. Have tried it a bit on grass
in gusty crap and would go two feet and then get toppled over once i tried to start tacking and my board was no longer pointed downwind. I'm a
snowboarder by trade but this ATB thing has got me all screwy. That said, hopefully the tide doesn't interfere too much. To find me, just look for the
idiot covered head to toe in MX gear
Thinking we'll get there for 9/10am and stay till perhaps some of you can sneak out of work? We' ll stick to static flying between 12 and 4 as we can
never get too much practice in, 'specially at our level!
:singing:
I'll be sure to bring refreshments as well. Anyone who is willing to share the knowledge and deal with noobs is more than welcome to enjoy.
Should it stay under 10mph, i would LOVE to open up the frenzy as it is still in the bag and begging for someone who knows what's up to use it.

Errr, I think it would more accurate to say, "You can't miss me, I'll be the maniac ripping down the beach at ungodly speeds in the wide axle bug
looking for small kids and light-weight girls to add that extra bit of ballast to keep me just barely on the good side of the edge of disaster. :wee:
Oh, and I have a pickup with a KTEGRU license plate." ;-)

@ B-Roc
Spoken like someone who has gone for a ride in the back of Dean's buggy before. But you don't want to scare his ballast away, or event more
importantly you don't want you wife to see it and ban your kids from buggies or kiting altogether.
@ Chud
If you make it down Monday, I will try to sneak out of work early and go straight to Nahant.
