Maybe it's just me but I don't feel like this experience warrants a tag of "terrible shopping experience". It's unfortunate the bag didn't fit the
board, but they offered to take it back and give you a refund, so what's the big deal?? If they said "tough beans, sale is final" well that would be
a terrible shopping experience.....
They offered you an alternative, which was your choice to take it or leave it, and since you didn't like the price it's your prerogative to leave it.
I've ordered tons of products online, and when you're ordering a product you aren't familiar with, once in a while it won't fit your needs, that's the
nature of mail order. The seller was willing to take it back and give a refund, and tried to find you an alternative... besides it's $15 bag, not a
$1000 kite. They tried to make it right....not sure what the big deal is.....

I think it was generous for them to even offer the $15 discount on the GI bag. They didn't need to do that. What do you expect them to do? Hardly
worth fuming about or taking to the forums to bash on the company.

I completely agree with big ben. It's a $15.00 bag!!!! I spend more than that on lunch!!! I understand that may be alot of money to you...but in the
big picture it is not. I understand some frustration if it was not as advertised, but that does not warrant blasting the company.
NJ, when companies "put things on sale" (especially for that cheap and when every other bag is 75+dollars) it should be a red flag that it is a
"cheapy" that may not have lived up to their expectations when they got it either. I agree with you that it does not warrant "false advertising"...but
from their perspective it is a cheap landboard bag that they need to get rid of. I understand you are upset but it may have been a good learning
experience for you. After all...you will get your money back.
I just had an awesome experience and fantastic customer service with the same company. I (MY FAULT) ordered the wrong size helmet for my wife. When
I got it and it did not fit I got immediate response from the staff going out of their way to help me. I received multiple phone calls from staff
checking on the status and what I needed to throughout the return process. I give them two thumbs up!!! I will be doing more business with them in
the future.

I will say it again.
You get what you pay for in this sport.
Support your local shop. If you don't have a local shop buy from the trusted sellers on here.
I agree that the seller has tried to be fare. I would send it back and if all you have is around $15 buy a handle for your board. A handle costs less
and is far more valuable a tool.

Oh where to begin..... :puzzled:
WARNING: This is going to be wicked harsh...

mountain boards..... it came today i unfolded it and it was missing the shoulder strap then i got my board out and it wouldn't fit it
wouldn't even fit if i took the wheels off i would need to take the trucks off. and maybe the bindings ( i know your probably thought why didnt you
just get an MBS or GI bag well they are expensive and this one was on sale for 15$ so it was ideal)
|
This is the actual description for the Crazyfly Board Bag
2008 Crazyfly Single Board Bag 125 x 42 cm <<---Notice that the length & width of the bag is
very clearly marked, even if the depth is not.
Details
Crazy Fly single board bags feature thick padding, shoulder strap, and durable design to keep your kiteboard looking new. No more scratches and dings
from tossing your board in the back of your truck. Also works awesome for skateboards and most longboard skateboards because of its
small size.
Nowhere does it say mountain board. It says skateboards and most longboards
Skateboards/Most Longboards don't have bindings for the most part.
Skateboards/Most Longboards don't have 8-9 inch wheels
Skateboards/Most Longboards don't have 15-16 inch trucks

They offered to have a bag that they didn't carry drop-shipped to you so that you get what you were after even though it was extra headache for them
and a transaction that they would probably clear next to nothing on in terms of profit.

when they finally got back to me on the price after contacting GI they said the bag is 79.99 and they would take off 15$ off it whish would be 65$. I
can get the bag for 59$ at modells.com sportsauthority.com, dakites and a bunch of other sites. |
$79.99 is the price for the 2010 GI Board. The bags that you see selling for $59 are 2009 GI Bag Boards. 2009 Bags didn't have wheels, 2010 Bags do.
If they offered to shave $15 off that was right off their end.

shoulder strap didnt even come with it. i mean they could take off more than just 15$!
|
At 15, it would be good to start reading product descriptions accurately as opposed to reading into them what you want.
List Price: $49.95 - Price: $15.00 = $34.95 Price Reduction.... a shoulder strap can be had for a lot less.

tragic

What's tragic is that you don't realize how far out of their way Jeff and the folks at Kiteboarding.com went to do right by you and instead of fully
resolving the issue with them directly, you feel the need to badmouth them in a public venue that they may or may not frequent.
What's really tragic is that if you had picked up the phone, dialed the Toll-Free number and told them what board you had, they
probably would have told you right off the bat that the Crazyfly bag was unsuitable.

when i bought my Mountainboard from dakites this summer something happened to it while it was shipping and one of the axle bolts got lost i emailed
Dino about the problem and he emailed me back asking exactly what was missing so he could get the stuff shipped out as soon as possible! He kept
emailing me every day until they arived he even offered to take them off another board and ship them out because the ones GI sent took a very long
time this way of dealing with business should be a standard. |
See the last comment. Dino went above and beyond for you. So did Jeff/Kiteboarding.com. The problem is that in one case it turned out like you
wanted and in the latter there probably wasn't much the retailer could do without taking a loss.
I am sorry to be so harsh, but quite frankly your grip on what really happened just isn't there and I don't think you realize how terribly wrong your
post was.
For anyone that has done business with Jeff, bought one of his impeccably crafted kites, or had one of their cherished kites lovingly repaired and
brought back from the grave... meh... no biggie. Your comments will be taken with a boulder of salt and discounted for what it is.
For someone that is just starting out or without any prior experience with Jeff and his company, your post will carry more weight than it should and
reflect poorly on someone that has been in kiting longer than you have been alive and brought a lot of good to kiting across many disciplines.
Sorry.... that's just flat out wrong... in 42 different languages.
In a perfect world, you'd read this, realize "Ooops, my bad" and write Jeff an apology here and via email. I expect there is a shortage on ponies,
though.
ATB,
Sam
P.S. @Kam: not really willing to gig someone for vapored email. I know it's not practical for you, but they generally answer the phone on the first
couple of rings if email fails. GI is the same way.

NJ, you did the right thing editing the post. That was stand up.
A wise mentor told me to always sleep on anything I had written when emotionally charged. I have learned when I do not heed this advice I run a great
risk of regretting what I sent.
Unfortunately the popularity of ranting pulls people right into the danger zone.
Now, if I may, shake this off and go fly something!

Good job NJ. As a wise man once told me......Don't e-mail angry. I know its tough being 15 and having cash flow issues, but I would really recommend
saving and getting something a little more expensive. It will serve you for years to come. Good Luck.

Stand up move NJL !
If we didn't care for you we wouldn't be hard on you !
You are doing a good job at figuring things out. Don't get discouraged. I made many much more expensive and dangerous mistakes. We all want to help
others avoid those mistakes.
Keep asking those questions ! Don't hesitate to run a purchase idea through the folks on here BEFORE you buy ! Try and hear what the facts are about
those choices and try to avoid reading what you want for an answer into the replies. That is hard when people have so many opinions, I know.
You are well on your way! A visit to WW and a winter on the snow. By next spring YOU will be handing out advice ! :wee:
